The playerbase numbers have gone down since D2 started. Forsaken went up just over 2 million but did not recover. Now the game has a little bit over a million on expansions and hasn't gotten any better. This is from an average of 4 to 5 million in D1. That's huge. Nobody seems to be coming back from those who already left. Since a couple years, game has gone down in quality as well. Old guns, old exotics, old content, coming back. Recycling old stuff is not better. It's just nostalgia. Nostalgia is only good for some population. The rest wants new exciting stuff.

Game has changed since it became free.

It went downhill since that expansion. This is so far the worst era of Destiny. It's not gonna get better. If the game still have some free aspect to it, I don't think it will get any better.
