Nah bro, that might be the reason you and other PVP guys leave. The big reason that I keep hearing is the rinse and repeat gameplay. Get bounties, do the things, turn in bounties. Don't get me wrong, it seems like they are getting a bit better with story and development. BUUUUUUT, then it's like the presage thing. Bungie be like "Ok get this, we do a cool story mission, they get a cool exotic, then they have to do a master version to get the catalyst, but wait, if they want to finish the triumph, they need to come back every week and do the same thing over and over again without a single thing changing except where we put a chest!" I'm so tired of running that thing, it's damn near muscle memory.

  • Their post pretty much only refers to pvp. So...pretty clear they're referring to PvP players leaving PvP or PvP players giving up on the game because of PvP. I don't think someone who only refers to PvP stuff in their post is referring to PvE players leaving over PvE. Context, dude. It's important.

  • Ah yes, if you came into this thread today then yes you would be correct. If you perhaps came in before then, you would have read the post the way it's originally written. Also with that click bait ass title to the forum post, you also came in here wondering what he was talking about. So yes as currently edited, it is about PVP, on the flip side the title says otherwise. Also let me state that toxic players can be anywhere in the game. Such as the AFK strike farmers. Or the people that just leave in the beginning of a strike, Gambit match, Crucible match, or Battlegrounds event. Matchmaking takes a little while to catch up. I myself have been subjected to this in battlegrounds a few times. Load in, other 2 people leave, have to run like 75% on my own before the game matchmakes 2 other players with me..

  • Ah, apologies. I didn't realize they had edited the context of the post. Though I will say that if a person is tired of blues leaving in PvE, they should either get better at the PvE (in the case of content that can be cleared solo like the regular strikes playlist, public events, and such) or they should just wait for friends or LFG to avoid that happening. PvE, outside of higher difficulty stuff like raids, Nightfalls, and Master/Grandmaster stuff, doesn't exactly require 3 people. However, it's also important to consider WHY people leave at the start of gambit, crucible matches, and battlegrounds events. In gambit, if you're not running with friends, you're much more likely to lose against a team of people coordinating together. Joining, only to see a bunch of gilded title players all on the same fireteam with specialized gear for each role...it can put you off the entire match from the start. Most people don't even want to bother trying against that, and that's understandable. If you're only there for bounties or casual play you don't want to have to sweat your sack off just to have a CHANCE to complete MAYBE one single bounty. Same goes for crucible. You can't blame the 1290 or lower Power player with 1or 2 out of the 5 god roll perks on all their gear and unoptimized stats for wanting to avoid the 6-stack clan fireteam of gilded unbroken/flawless players running Adept trials god roll pvp gear all fully masterworked with trackers showing no less than 800 kills on every weapon. If they leave, and it's not because of that, maybe they accidentally joined the wrong mode or something happened in real life they needed to deal with. As for battlegrounds, it's not exactly a fun mode to begin with. It's just boring. Progress from A to B, all while fighting a ton of the most boring enemy type in the entire game. If somebody joins with the intention to do bounties, then decides they would rather have fun, again...you can't blame them. And if they join, see their team and decide it isn't worth it or that they won't have any luck with bounties because of how that team is playing, then it really ISN'T worth it to them to play that match. It's never as simple as "I'll join then leave, they'll HATE that! >:D" Everyone has a reason.

  • Agreed mostly. I get all your examples, and you aren't wrong. Humans are still bad people though. I'm happy there isn't griefing in Destiny. Although I have been in LFG raids a few times where the leader laughed and then booted everyone right before you could get final boss checkpoint. That's about the worst I've encountered.

  • See that guy just has issues. Sorry you had to deal with someone like that. But god...imagine if D2 DID have griefing....I can already see the stasis hunters actively trying to ruin everyone elses time. Wait, no, they already do that.
