The ornament doesn't change how the weapons core works.
Same with every other gun.
English
-
A cosmetic change isn’t a core change.
-
Then why would like weapon change its beam? It doesn't effect any other weapon like that.
-
You know video games are meant for fun right?
-
You know that still isn't relevant to what we were discussing
-
Why couldn’t the bubble be changed to red? It’s purely cosmetic
-
Because they change the weapons looks... Not its function. As has been the case for since destiny's inception
-
How does it change its function?
-
Because its a ARC weapon...
-
So changing the color of the beam would FORCE Bungie to change the element?
-
No. ARC weapons fire a light blue. Solar weapons fire a orange. Void weapons fire purple... This has never changed before from a ornament and it never will.
-
But why not. It’s not changing how the gun works. Do you know what the word cosmetic means?
-
Changing the weapons appearance. Not function... As I said multiple times. They won't change how it functions They haven't done it since destiny's inception and they aren't going to change it now.
-
But ornaments have changed a weapon’s function before. -Cold Denial’s ornament gave it a cleaner sight -Chaperone’s Panama Ravine ornament once gave it extra range -Outbreak Perfected’s Matterblack ornament gives it a red dot reticle rather than its diamond reticle
-
That's not it's function... Its function is what it fires
-
Edited by Harrowed Chaos: 4/19/2021 7:04:32 PMCold Denial’s bullet stream is purple and that doesn’t affect its “function”. So then why would a red beam change a weapon’s function?
-
Cold denial is a legendary omelon kinetic weapon... Both the base weapon AND the ornament fire purple bullets.
-
But you stated that only void weapons have purple bullet streams. Cold Denial, however, is a kinetic weapon. So which is it then?
-
Cold denial is a Omelon weapon that's infused with darkness... Hence why it doesn't fire standard projectiles. Arc, void and solar are LIGHT energy. Darkness is something we don't know fully about
-
Isn’t Divinity a darkness weapon though? It was brought to us by the Vex and the Pyramids.
-
Ah now that's the thing... Divinity. We don't know about it, like we batley have anything on it. But the core is vex and the radiolarian is considered arc damage when killed by a fanatic. So honestly with divinity? We don't know how it functions as we don't know how it was made.
-
That “explains” Divinity, then what about every other seasonal weapon from Season of Arrivals. Hollow Woods in from the same batch, is arc, yet it follows the norm of blue bullet streams. Your attempts to explain why changing a color is falling apart. Dude, just accept it and enjoy a red laser beam.

My argument was the way a weapon shoots shouldn't be changed by a ornament as has been the case since d1 was created. You went off on a tangent about different weapons not looking like the normal ones due to them...
-
I went off tangent because you went off tangent. You supported your argument with the(lame) reasonings of -Element has certain color -Darkness weapons I explained how those reasonings were(very) flawed. The most ludicrous part of your argument is saying that whatever a weapon shoots is it’s function. Meaning, no matter what I change to a weapon, whatever color it shoots is it’s function(which is just straight up wrong). According to you, an ornament changing a weapon itself in gameplay does not affect it, but changing the color does.
-
Allow me to explain things simply. ORNAMENTS for weapons chmace the APPEARANCE of the weapon. Not the way the weapon fires or its projectiles. Example. Thorns ornaments change its colour and design slightly... The rounds fired are still black thorns. Risk runner is a ARC weapon, the ornaments change its colour but not its function as a ARC weapon. Take ANY weapon in the game and add a ornament and it changes the weapons looks. Not how it acts and how it fires. The tangent YOU went on was... Season of arrivals weapons fire purple without it being void... They are omelon weapons that are using darkness. Omelon doesn't create kinetic weapons. All the arrival weapons are city manafactured weapons corrupted in some form. Which was never relevant to the discussion. Divinity fires a ARC beam. That's it. The design changes the way divinity looks. Bungie have already made it very clear by ornaments from d1 and d2 that they are cosmetic only. They don't change how the weapon works. Arc weapons always fire light blue. Void always fire purple. Solar is always orange. There has never been ro my knowlage a weapon that has deviated from that. Before you say "season of arrivals" They are literally weapons that used solar, arc and void that have been changed by the darkness.

Changing the color of something doesn’t change its function. It’s not changing the element because it is purely COSMETIC. How dense are you?
