Only bring it back if the Warlocks get an actual unique weapon, What we got was pathetic in comparison to the others

  • *laughs in crown splitter* I could write a book by the time this sword finished its heavy attack

  • And its heavy attack was a smash AoE that was really good

  • As a warlock, sword will fire cushion Granades that are tracking, detonate on contact and have an aoe damage that can destroy a stasis super. Now that would be interesting

  • Didn’t that thing have like 100 percent block efficiency?

  • Which isn’t unique sword, The Titan exotic can give every sword 100% efficiency. Warlocks need an actual unique sword or at least a sword with a unique heavy attack, 100% efficiency isn’t special or even good as blocking is mostly pointless

  • It is and was unique. Those swords were in the game before stronghold. Stronghold originally didnt do that anyways. They reworked it and nerfed the hell out of it. All it used to do was guard indefinitely and move faster while guarding. Either way its unique because youd have to run titan to do that with an exotic, warlock would just need a sword, and s hunter just couldnt achieve max guard efficiency.

  • It’s still not a unique sword though, Hunters and Titans both have unique light and heavy attacks which aren’t shared with any other sword in existence while the Warlocks have the same attack style as other swords with no unique attacks. Having max Efficiency was completely pointless on swords back then swords as this was also before the sword rework which made them better. If I remember correctly in comparison with other swords you’d only be able to block for an additional 2 seconds. An additional 2 seconds of blocking is not equal to a unique move set the others got...

  • The way swords were before you could block forever im pretty sure. It just slowly consumed ammo. Amd consumed more based on efficiency. And that still makes the sword unique. The hunter sword didnt get unique swinging animations. It just does literally everything faster the only unique animation it got was sprinting and that didnt even require the sword to be powered to get the speed boost. So its technically not even related to the sword. Atleast not a powered ability. Its less unique than the warlock sword. It sucked worse than the warlock sword in PvE. Did less damage, has no guard ability which does help a ton. Ive used swords in PvE since a while before the first haunted forest. Before stronghold was a thing. The warlock sword was one of the better swords amd if i remember right did major damage, and was debated to be better than the titan sword because of how slow the titan sword was.

  • Went back and checked Ehroar’s and both the Titan and Hunter sword actually dealt more total damage then the Falling Guillotine (Hunters did the most by around 100k damage) Guillotine did have the higher DPS though. The Warlock sword or I should say the base sword (Uppercut) did less damage then Falling Guillotine so that wasn’t even in the running, If the other swords beat out Guillotine then the Warlocks stood zero chance. Look, The Hunters sword was the only Lightweight Frame sword and the Titans was the only Aggressive Frame. Regardless of how you feel about it the Warlocks got an Adaptive Frame sword which was identical to every other sword at the time. They only got special perk which again was useless. I don’t know how you think a two second longer duration while guarding is more unique then a faster sprint and attack speed or slower attack speed but more damage... If a single Auto Rifle in this game had a RoF of 1200, that is a unique weapon even if all it does is “shoot faster”

  • Again youre comparing them AFTER swords were reworked. You guarded infinitely before till ammo ran out. Ammo running out was based on efficiency. It would have been more relevant in year 1. Also if the hunter sword does more damage than FG it would do more DPS considering it swings quicker. Little of what youre saying makes any sense. Also adaptive uppercut swords out DPS guillotine all day long. That thing is junk and swings through bosses, does half the damage off of the boss since it spins. If FG was better they wouldnt always always be out DPSd and out slayn by my steel sybil in gambit and i dont even have jagged edge. Only thing that stands a chance is lament.

  • The drain of the ammo while guarding wasn’t noticeable, efficiency (Pre rework) was mainly for guarding attacks. The 2 extra seconds was here, you could guard attacks for two seconds longer over other swords. This only applied to adds though, Against bosses it would drain your full reserves from a single attack regardless of which sword you used. The reason Guillotine had the highest DPS (Damage per second) was because the heavy attack did so much damage in a very short time frame. This was before it got nerfed multiple times as well. When you use all your ammo though the Hunters sword dealt more damage then anything else. Was just correcting you as you said it’s damage was terrible. Just go watch the video if you want proof... DPS does not equal Total Damage Do you even understand how the Vortex swords work? What do you mean half of it misses??? As long as the enemy is in the vortex they take full damage, Your more likely to miss an uppercut due to an add stealing the tracking from your target then missing with Guillotine. The ease of use is one of the reasons it’s so good. The spin does roughly 25% more damage then the Uppercut so I have no idea where your getting that Adaptives do more damage...

I understand perfectly how they work. If a boss is in front of you, you only hit 140 degrees worth of the rotation. It is 100% damage wasted. If an ad walked in thr opposite radius of the spin they would take damage. Which means the spin does damage for every 10 degrees or so. It isn't a flat 1 shot hit. None of the sword heavy attacks are. They all do multiple hits of damage.

  • I mentally edited the word “need” with the word “want” just for my sanity. I already know Guardian Games is going to be annoying as hell this year around the forums, already. We can’t speak to parity on one thing without bring up the laundry list so I’d rather not even go there. Just keep them sunset just to avoid the unnecessary noise. I rarely use swords anyways.
