The Main Reason Why Players Are Toxic and Leave Destiny 2 I'd like to add: 5- The constant and incessant nerfing meta shift. Who here believes it isn't planned? 6- Light-Level Gatekeeping prevents many in the loyal base (who paid just as much as everyone else) to be kept out of a lot of the activities unless they abandon their families, their careers, their grades, and their vitamin D to grind/grind/grind/and grind some more. 7- Removing any semblance of skill matching in 6v6 PvP causes people not to play. Many won't subject themselves to being fodder for either streamers or those who enjoy mopping the floors.

 • All 3 things you listed are things I enjoy. The shifting meta creates a new experience every season, and I always enjoy collecting possible new meta weapons just before a meta change. It makes me feel like an NFL scout looking for the next Tom Brady. I enjoy leveling up. I don’t know why I enjoy it, and I don’t know why other people don’t. Maybe it’s a personal preference, but it just feels like progression. Maybe it’s because I like math and I like calculating the fastest way to the top. And I don’t have a lot of free time, I typically work 46-50 hours a week, I have a wife and 2 kids that I like to spend time with and yet I still manage to stay pretty up to speed with the power level each season. It’s not difficult, maybe it’s just not fun for you. The matchmaking system is pretty much a non-factor for me because I don’t find destiny pvp fun. Maybe it’s a lack of objectives or variety, but it’s just the same boring team deathmatch we’ve been getting in every game for the last 20 years. I enjoy open world pvp much more or at least objective modes like capture the flag. Elder scrolls online and the dark zone in the division are my favorite forms of pvp. Yeah, they are broken at times, but the concept is much more fun that team deathmatch. I’m less concerned with balance and more concerned with fun.

 • I bet you enjoy lag, delay and bad hit detection, haha.

 • No one enjoys those and no one claims to enjoy such things. But they are secondary concerns to me. My primary concern is that I don’t find destiny pvp fun. It’s not a mechanical failure, it’s a conceptual failure. I simply don’t enjoy team deathmatch. It’s boring and archaic. It doesn’t bring the same joy as it did 20 years ago. I think it’s time to move on and try something new

Its not fair that I've followed these instructions to the letter and yet I continue to have matchmaking trying to make a monkey out of me. When do the no-lifers with low K/Ds get a voice? The "two groups" get catered to CONSTANTLY and all we get is a "Mikey likes it" experience. For the youth, this is what we feel like watching the "two groups" talk about matchmaking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLQ0LZSnJFE

 • Gatekeeping part is weird. My son goes to school, works weekends, has homework, and still he's 1331. And he started the season late. You want to be max level as soon as the season starts? Why doesn't every player just get every exotic free as soon as you buy the game. Why not just give raid loot as part of the season pass? Why not jus give everyone adept weapons because they log in to Destiny?

 • Just imagine how high your son could climb if he applied a full measure of his talent toward academics or community service. My daughter has 4 undergrad/graduate professional degrees. She excelled in academics. There was very little time for her to play even a little Destiny while she was in school.

 • Too bad, sounds like your daughter didn’t have much fun. You freaking a-hole, telling me how to raise my son, he’s going to heaven when he dies, that’s all that matters to me, he is a good boy.

 • Instead of quoting the bible, you should just pray for guidance. You should be asking for forgiveness for pretending to be holy. You are just a man, you have no right to judge people you do not know.

 • I didn't inject religion into this dialog - I responded to someone who did. My pointing to Ephesians 4:29 was not judging. More like encouragement... There is only one Judge. The text in Ephesians encourages us to use our speech for the benefit of others.

 • You judged my sons upbringing. Your quote from the bible means ‘if you have nothing positive to say, then don’t say anything at all’ to me.Let’s just forgive and forget all this. My son is doing just fine in school and work, seemingly your daughter as well, so all’s well for both us fathers. Let’s just appreciate what we have and move on. God bless.
What do you mean by this? You only need a high light level that requires serious grinding for like 3 different activities. Even stuff like trials you don't have to be max level for.

 • #5 they don't shift the meta its handcannons and shotguns every season as soon as something is better than handcannons people complain and it gets nerfed into the ground then rinse and repeat

 • Exactly what I’ve been saying for the last couple years! I hear even now players calling to nerf fusion rifles especially bastion and every single time I look at their load out it’s hc/shotgun the two most op weapons in the game. Players should be able to play any weapon class they want and be able to hit Legend in Comp or go there the lighthouse in Trials but instead when they play their favorite scout or pulse they get destroyed every game be a 120 hc from across maps at scout range, and Ben 40-50m and they still beat scouts. This is getting to be a joke. I just bother introducing new pulses or bring g back old scouts when you play them they get beat by a hc? Exactly why players shy away from PvP.
Finally, we want to continue to adjust weapon archetype performance and introduce new perks that shift the meta in the Crucible. I think the team has done a great job in this area over the last several months, introducing balance changes both at the seasonal boundaries and at the mid-season, and we want to continue to drive down this path to diversify the types of loadouts you encounter from season to season. In addition, at Season 15 we will also be looking to adjust overall ability usage rates to make sure guns and gunplay are always key to success in the Crucible.
