Exotic armor won’t get catalysts but there should be more incentive to masterwork it. A bigger boost to stats compared to legendary would justify the three golf balls.

Only incentive is if you need the energy for mods. I only started MW’ing exotic gear this season; and that was just to use up golfballs sat in the postmaster so that the drops weren’t being wasted.
