Rift is a fun custom game but not a fun matchmaking game mode only because the nature of the rift forces you to only spawn in the one spot, all it takes is a stack or a half decent enemy team to lock you in spawn and farm you the entire game

Fix for that is to make a zone in spawns that you are unkillable similar to overwatch

Bungie could counter this by making the goal and spark spawns non-static... moving to a different RANDOM spawn point every minute or so. Doesn’t have to be ‘home base’ of enemy but just in the goal wherever it is. Scoring could be 10 points for a goal and 5 for a defense. Idea is to incentivize aggressiveness but still reward teams that are good at map coverage and control for defending against a goal. Kills could be recorded but not count toward kda to discourage kill farming (probably the worst thing about rift in d1)

I’m not a game designer so I don’t know how hard it would be to implement those ideas but there are a lot of common sense things they could do with spawns and stats to make quick play a much more inviting place.
