The pvp matchmaking is fine. There is equal chance of matching a good player as there is matching a bad one. So if you cant perform well in pvp you are just not good at it. The good news is that because the matchmaking works that way it's easier to improve if you know what to look for. For example, say you're getting rolled through by a really great player, think to yourself "what is he doing that im not" pay attention to their movement and positioning, and then imitate it in the next games. Doing this for long enough is how the best players got to where they are, this is also why players get stuck in "elo hell" in some games because improvement doesn't come naturally when playing equally skilled players, you have to play people better than you to improve, if you only play equally skilled opponents then it is literally just a coin toss for who wins. Just know that every player that pubstomps you has been in your shoes at one point, use your lack of skill as motivation to get better, getting mad at the game does nothing to benefit anyone. Destiny is a very simple game and once you get over the initial learning curve the game becomes hilariously easy. This is yet another reason why no sbmm should be in the game. I do not want to have a competitive experience in a game that doesn't have any competitive integrity. The game is designed from the ground up to be a power fantasy above all else, this is why those who put the time into getting better are allowed to absolutely destroy those below them, and also why weapons and supers are the way they are. I hope that makes sense, the better you get at destiny the more you'll realize the game isn't built to help you improve its built to be mindless fun. It just so happens to be more fun for the ones who take the time to get better.

  • "what is he doing that im not" Hm... everything. Literally everything. You can learn from player that is slightly better than you or from the one who's teaching you. You can't learn from player that have better (and even theoretically unobtailable gear - hello to adept weapons from solo player), he's faster, he have better map awareness because he's playing 24x7 etc. Not every one even want to be "better". Sometime (crazy idea, ha?) someone want to just have fun. What would you learn if you'd be match made with NBA stars all the time?

You can learn from players leagues ahead of you. Pick apart what they're doing piece by piece and improve on those aspects individually, crazy concept huh? Not like people have been doing that for the whole of history or anything. As for the not wanting to get better and just playing for fun. Why the hell would you be complaining then? If you dont want to get better then dont complain about being bad. Edit: Gear is also pretty irrelevant. I can take white and blue gear into pvp and still do well. Obviously it's easier with better loot but it's not the be all end all.
