You say that like it wasn't constantly embroiled in meta complaints and people throwing a fit over X did Y for Z reason. Crucishit has been bad since the Destiny Alpha and has continued to be worse ever since. I still think Bungie should have stuck to their guns on the original weapon balancing and only performed mild tweaks until they hit the sweet spot, and then reigned in outliers.
