Everyone in that community, myself included, loves it and it ensures no content is gatekept and everyone, regardless of their social or LFG status, can enjoy everything the game has to offer.
The elitism and gatekeeping in the Destiny community need to stop. It's not healthy.

Edited by Superpotent: 6/5/2021 1:57:50 AMLmao.... Good luck with that. I made this post a long time ago. Long and extensive but in got nothing but hate. Nobody can give reasons for why matchmaking would affect them if they didn't want to use it. It's simple it is elitism. Say what you want but LFG is literally matchmaking but with me doing all the work and wasting my time in the process. If I have to constantly take time to manually find RANDOM ppl to join my group then what is the difference with having the game do it for me. I was so turned off from raiding cuz I constantly had to find more ppl cuz ppl get in and realize it's hard or can't do it and then leave it join and realize ppl new and leave. So now I'm at the last boss and every body giving up cuz after 2 runs of somebody dying they already tired and I'm stuck in a loop of find players that actually want to complete it. Say whatever you all want but matchmaking is the single biggest gatekeep in this game. PERIOD! If I'm going to spend 30 mins to an hour in LFG them why bother. Also ppl like to act like Destiny is some special game unlike other and matchmaking just won't work. Last time I checked things like the Duty Finder in FF14 works great. So try and tell me that Destinys raiding experience is somehow above FF14 which has an in game LFG!

Destiny needs pvp like Warframe. Forgotten and abandoned.

Elitism 😂🤣

Let's be real. Matchmaking for raids will often mash you with blueberries that don't have mics, don't have good connections, don't know mechanics and might not even speak the same language as you. It'd be a total mess.
-
On the flipside, there is nothing in Warframe that compares to Raids. Eidolon Hunts are very rudimentary and dont even require a full 4-man squad.
-
As long as I can turn it off like I can in warframe

Edited by ubintangoed3268: 4/1/2021 8:32:37 PMEverything up to 1300 should definitely be match made. Raids should not.

Gatekeeping? I’ve been using LFG since the very start of D2 and I’ve had no issues whatsoever doing end game content Yeah maybe I didn’t meet the requirements of one or two post, but guess what I did? I either made my own LFG post (because there are six others in your exact spot) or I went out and gotten the weapons that were top dps for the raid encounters I didn’t run DSC until I had gotten a first in, last out shotgun with vorpal simply because that was the strongest dps option at the time.

0 raid clears, 0 dungeon clears. WHY are you in a clan if ppl aren't helping you do these activities? Perhaps it's time to move on into a clan where people are willing to help you complete that stuff, make some new friends and enrich your gaming experience
-
How is there gatekeeping? If someones capable of logging on to destiny they are capable of finding a way to lfg pretty easily.
-
One thing I like about their matchmaking is the ping limits you could set for it. Never get matched with laggy sobs.

Edited by BlueWolfSpirit: 3/31/2021 9:23:08 AMIt would cause many more problems than it solves. First problem is the unfortunate truth is there are bad people that just won't learn. Hate to say it but there are. Not to mention trolls that could ruin your experience in the raid. And in all honesty, Matchmaking would just cause Gatekeeping and Elitism to be worse. Just make your own Lfg and ask for help. There are people that do teaching runs. Hell I do teaching runs where I teach 5 people a whole raid so they can go out and do the raid with different people. Just make your own LFG and ask for help. You'll get some people that will help.

My main complaint with raids being lfg'ed is that they require mics. I'm down for basically everything else having match making tho... Except maybe the higher level nightfalls

So whats the point of rare and powerful weapons, titles, etc if everyone has them?
-
Not everything in Warframe had matchmaking, raids didn’t before they were taken out

speak for yourself
