See, i get where people like you are coming from but your last idea sums it up. You are a pve player. Why should a pvp matchmaking system be catered to people who generally aren't that interested in pvp and just get their bounties done at the very most before dipping out of pvp. I've legit never, not once, seen an actual pvp player ask for SBMM. SBMM in a game like this, a game that isn't balanced in the slightest, is the worst idea i've ever heard of. SBMM in this game made the experience for players like me who actually play pvp to enjoy pvp the worst experience ever. I am not saying i play pvp to slay noobs and need CBMM for that. No, CBMM is needed because the overall player pop in YOUR own general area for pvp is not high enough to guarantee a fun experience. With SBMM, my queue times for QUICKPLAY at the BEGINNING of seasons were at 5-15 minutes because the game failed to provide enough players of my own skill level. On top of that once i finally found games, there were laggy asian players in my lobby all over the place. In addition, literally everyone was playing meta and only that, sweating their asses off like its a championship THE WHOLE TIME in the most casual game to ever exist. Variety is key, SBMM provided stale sweatlord lobbies 100 % of the time. Its not fun for the actual pvp players. CBMM is needed for the actual pvp players to enjoy their game mode. So please stop trying so hard to make your 10 minutes of pvp you play every 3 weeks enjoyable while ruining our hours of pvp per day. I am not asking to make GM Nightfalls easier for my own enjoyment either. I don't play em. Crazy concept, i know.

 • So if all the average/poor player stopped playing PVP... you would be back to square one.....waiting ages to get into a game. The majority get slaughtered (and they do so just to get the weekly pinnacle) so you can get into a game quicker.....

 • That sounds to me like you want special treatment. There are still laggy Asians. I bet if you ran a poll the majority of players would want skill based. An extra open quickplay mode would be ok as well. For things like Trials and Banner SBMM makes more sense. You will lose more players by having unfair matchmaking than you will the top players being upset about queque times. Eventually all you will have is Laggy Asian players in your games because the majority leave unsatisfied mwith the experience.

 • Sorry but those excuses fail since even when cbmm was in the game all shadowkeep pvp players still cried.
Why should a pvp matchmaking system be catered to people who generally aren't that interested in pvp and just get their bounties done at the very most before dipping out of pvp.
And it shouldn’t be, I agree. All I did was give my impression and feedback on what a casual player like me experiences in Crucible, why I don’t like that experience and come up with some possible solutions. In my opinion if you’re gonna say something’s not good, you should also propose what could be done to improve it - otherwise it’s just complaining. Tbh I already regret bringing up SBMM vs CBMM as it’s not my point at all. I don't care which one it is as long as the game is playable for everybody. My point was that experience in Crucible as a new person does not feel fun or enjoyable for that matter - not necessarily because you’re bad at the game, but because you don’t even understand what’s going on most of the time, as you’re getting killed left and right, often before you even have a chance to move from a spawn point. It would be similar to trying to learn to play chess while your opponent is Garry Kasparov. Or after creating a new character starting not in Cosmodrome with you ghost finding you, but instead in the Shattered Throne dungeon. Sure, you could pass it after months of trying, coming up with new strategies and tactics, learning and improving, and constantly dying, but most would have given up on it, just like a lot of newbies avoid Crucible for pretty much the same reason. See what i mean?
So please stop trying so hard to make your 10 minutes of pvp you play every 3 weeks enjoyable while ruining our hours of pvp per day. I am not asking to make GM Nightfalls easier for my own enjoyment either. I don't play em. Crazy concept, i know.
That's silly, man. You don't know me, you don't know how much I play and you don't know seem to understand my motivations. If what I proposed really ruins the experience for regular PvP players, then by all means it shouldn't be implemented. But I don't think it's the case. I based my points on my own experience, what my friends say about Crucible and what I've read in numerous forums, as well as comparing this experience to other PvP games I've played and enjoyed in the past. Not just because it's hard for me, so Bungie should make it easier. If nothing changes and I still don't enjoy it I just won't play. But since me personally, friends I play with and I assume many others would enjoy PvP more with some kind of progressive difficulty, that's what I proposed. And by the way - if there were things you thought could improve Nightfalls, and you didn't like the experience - you should be able to express your opinion and thoughts about it, no matter whether you play it once a week or every day. P.S. A lot of people here provided suggestions on how to improve, tips and ways to play the PvP to enjoy it more, which I really appreciate though. I was really rather expecting just a couple of answers like “well, sucks to be you” and that would be it.
