Paying a brand new voice actor to redo ALL of the ghost lines in the game? Never going to happen. They have enough trouble keeping V.A. as it is.
They have enough trouble keeping V.A. as it is. That's why Ikora hasn't had new dialog in like a year.
Nah, Ikora doesn’t get new dialog because Bungie hates warlocks! Step off my ‘locks! ✊

I'm not super sure about this because you can do a lot to mimic a voice. Ever seen Shadows of the Republic? That fan fiction Commando short voices both clones and Palpatine perfectly and I doubt it had near the budget Bungie has for Destiny franchise as a AAA game
-
Ok... a brand new female ghost is not mimicry. And they would still have to pay somebody to act all those lines. Bungie isn't making a fan fiction, they're making the fiction for the fans.
-
There really isn’t as many lines as you think. For a company of 500+ people, paying one person to do a couple days to a week of work really isn’t a huge cost.
-
We'll yeah, you're right, but I was making a point all the same. The Shadows fanfiction still need an individual to voice characters, and then needed to tweek the voices to match characters in the series. Bungie could probably do it for cheap if the didn't ask for high profile voice actors they could even try doing some themselves. I'd love to hear Bungie employees voice my ghost tbh

There's a lot more that goes into voice acting than you realize. Even casting the right person in the first place is an expensive process. It's not just "okay everyone on your lunch go stand and talk into the mic for 10 minutes". It's a whole job by itself with a whole technical skillset you have to build.
-
I understand what goes into it 100% and I'm not sure I quite agree that learning who to cast is expensive, but either way, can we just appreciate how good this is as a fan made video? Honestly better than some of the stuff Disney pushes out

So good

👀 I don't know what's going on with the VA but she does have a few new lines if you talk with her. Story wise, between her sacred Io disappearing to the pyramids, the Guardian using Darkness and Cayde's killer being turned into a Guardian, which she would know, her short response is adequate.
-
She's got maybe 10 lines since Shadowkeep, and no story presence. Gina Torres is doing two tv shows this year and was in a movie last year, and is in production for another movie this year. She's busy af lol.
-
No it’s not ... she didn’t just lose Io (a spiritual place to her), she also lost a friend and possibly hidden agent in Asher; she should have said something.
-
You try losing a lot to traumatic events and then try talking/trusting people. It doesn’t happen. You only trust in yourself, which is what she is doing. Retreat to keep safe. Safety is the top priority to victims of trauma. Seems to me what she is doing is perfectly normal. (And works into the VAs schedule. Plus we know she will have a presence next season, so May 9th minimum. And in Witch Queen.)

Edited by Pilotslover: 3/8/2021 6:52:04 AMIt comes across as lazy writing or an obvious inability not to get hold of Torres more than something deliberate, especially since Ikora was more verbose during The Red War.

True. Just saying what I see.

It’s not quite what I see but I respect that
