@Sabotage summed it up pretty well.
Every other game works fine, this is possibly the only game i have ever seen with such a disparity in performance between different gpu vendors, with literally no explanation.
games are designed around hardware not the reverse!
Hardware accelerated computing (which by the way is all just number calculations, regardless how they're presented pretty as they may be) is general purpose, which is why outside of gaming they are called GPGPUs.
its the same reason you can buy any consumer graphics card and competently expect good performance in the professional sector, for workloads such as Autocad or BIM.
If the program needs specific functions that only 1 set of hardware supports, it damn well says so on the box.
Unless the software your trying to run is mission critical, you don't replace hardware for 1 application.
In this case you will find many users here saying that they will just stop playing destiny and move on to other titles.
TLDR:
Unless you are buying High end expensive hardware just to run Destiny, and if you are you're a -blam!-ing -blam!-.
Its not worth anyone's time to sell on a brand new perfectly capable piece of hardware for another, because the software developer can't be bothered.
The game isn't even that good at this point.
Bad PVP
small % of population running raids
garbage/ nonexistent anti-cheat
Bad loot
66% reduction of game for a fee
time restricted expansions
80% of what's left not worth playing
there is plenty other games worth playing in existence that do run agnostic of hardware, some of them free.
