[BNG] PC FPS Issues Megathread - UPDATE June 22

Hey, community. We're currently investigating FPS issues on PC.
UPDATES
June 22, 2021 Last night, AMD released Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.6.1 that fixes some Radeon Graphics products that were experiencing lower than expected performance in Destiny 2. AMD users may want to change their Settings > Preferred Software Version to Recommended + Optional for future updates.

June 3, 2021 In our TWaB blog post, we acknowledged that we made some major engine changes with the launch of Beyond Light - while working from home. Due to the pandemic, we haven't had access to our PC compatibility lab to do in-depth testing. We've been making improvements with each release even though they aren't called out in patch notes, and we're working with our partners to help address these issues and are optimistic about the future.

January 29, 2021 We have looked over the data post 3.0.2 launch: -- High-end users saw big improvements: we're about halfway back to pre-Beyond Light perf. -- Mid-range systems didn't see much improvement. -- Low-end and laptops didn't see much improvement. We're continuing to investigate and look for solutions toward better performance.

January 19, 2021 We released Update 3.0.2 that optimized Lighting on PC GPUs to help increase performance. -- Many folks have mentioned turning off the Shader Cache in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Does this help with performance?

December 14, 2020 We believe we found a few issues related to light probes that have led to GPU performance degradation. We're still investigating and hope to have a resolution in January.

Please use this thread to help us track down what is causing the issue by:
1. Posting when and where you are having FPS issues in the game 2. Quitting out of all open apps and browsers while playing to see if there are any improvements 3. I see the update you guys have given for the recent patch about high end users. This may be apparent for some new NVIDIA card owners, but definitely not for new AMD card owners. I have a 6900XT with a 5900X and I have seen no difference in performance. I am getting at times less than 1/3rd the expected fps I should be getting. Whatever it is you are all investigating, please take note about new AMD card compatibility. I am getting frustrated every time I play and want to cry when I play PVP because I am constantly stuttering, lagging, and jumping between 30 and 80-100 fps constantly. The game is massively unstable for new AMD GPUs. I love the game to death but Im starting to lose hope without knowing if it will ever be fixed because we arent getting any updates on the situation :( please fix this, I just started playing again after building my new PC and I just want to enjoy the game again... Please at the very least keep us more updated and let us know that you arent leaving AMD users in the dust... at 1440p ultrawide in Modern Warfare 2019 with ultra settings on I saw between 160-215fps, most of the time in Destiny 2 I get 40-60fps with constant lagging and stuttering :/ so I know its not just a blatant driver issue. Everything is up to date on my system. Forget pvp, sometimes pve is unplayable for me... I know you guys at Bungie are extremely busy with new content, but for a lot of us who have built new PCs with the newer hardware that is irrelevent to us if we can barely even play the game for that content. Not even trying to rag on you guys, I just wish you would all keep us in the loop so we have something to look forward to. I dont want to believe that it will take a whole year to fix this issue like players reported previously with the 5000 series AMD GPUs, I want to have faith and hope but its just so hard right now. Idea: build new PCs with the newer 6000 series AMD and 3000 series NVIDIA cards so you guys can see what we are talking about and then go from there so you can monitor the issue and feel our pain.
