PvP: Enough with shotguns! (and hand cannons)

It seems to me that Bungie has not been paying to much attention to what is going on in Crucible. I used to play Destiny 1 a lot. I used to love PvP. I used to love Auto Rifles. Sadly though, every other weapon but shotguns have been rendered useless in Destiny 2 PvP. Shotguns are absolutely out of balance. Having a ridiculous damage is not the problem. I am not an expert on guns, but I do believe that real shotguns are not the most accurate weapons but are lethal at short distance. SHORT DISTANCE for God's sake! However, in Destiny 2 they are ridiculously lethal and eve more ridicoulously accurate at medium distance. With an Auto Rifle you're just no match for a shotgun, it doesn't matter where you stand. You start firing, the guy runs toward you and shots you dead while you unload a whole clip at his face. In Destiny 1 I used to enjoy medium range engagement, keeping opponents at distance with Auto Rifles, and saving my sidearm for close combat when it was unavoidable. This tactic has become useless. Auto Rifles are no better than paintball rifles. Hand cannons are slowly becoming another nuisance. They can one shot kill you at absurd distances, while, again, you empty a clip of an auto rifle at someone's face. These two weapons are so imbalanced that over 50% kills in PvP are due to one of them. If you are offered Auto Rifles, Fusion Rifles, Precision Rifles, Pulse Rifles, Scout Rifles, Bows, Sidearms, Submachine Guns, Trace Rifles, Hand Cannons and Shotguns; but only the latter two weapons are efficient, why offering the others? And, sure a lot of people will bully me, make fun of me, say that I am a noob (sorry, I didn't know that Destiny was aimed at pros only), babble, babble... and I know that a lot of people will tell me that if that is the problem, I should stop whinning and get myself a shotgun and a hand cannon, or stop playing. Neither the one, nor the other. I don't like shotguns playstyle (I have no fun with them), I don't like hand cannons, and I just feel I have the equal right of having fun with my Auto Rifle (ocasional Pulse Rifle) & Sidearm as the "sliding shotgun player" (God, I hate this so much). And no, I believe that I must do my part in trying to change what I believe is not right instead of just turning my back to it (what will eventually happen if D2 continues being the "Shotgun/Hand Cannon Party".
