Pretty poor performance from my new 6800, just replaced a 1080Ti. 1080Ti used to get solid 144fps pretty much everywhere before BL, then went down to 80-144 in BL. Got the RX6800 and first load in to game was getting 8fps, which didn't change depending on resolution or graphic quality settings. GPU was being utilised less than 50%, so little the temp was less than 60c and fans didn't even spin up. Eventually it cleared and ran about 60fps. Did a totally fresh install of Windows and re-downloaded D2 fresh, and it's a little better, but still not good enough that a new AMD GPU is running half as well as a nearly 4 year old 1080Ti that's less than half the speed.

  • same here had a oc'd 5950x and a 6900xt and 32gb ddr4 ram, game was perfect until the reset on the 2/2/21 after that fps in game tanked in almost all destinations from a silky smooth 100-120fps at 4k down to a measly 42fps on tangled shore, dreaming city, the tower was a bit better but around 70-80 fps, however i am able to play at around 100fps on the cosmodrome, nessus, europa and finally the moon but i do get micro stutter like mad in parts which really puts me off playing the game. i should note when my fps drops started i headded into the bios and reset my cpu oc and agin my gpu was reset via windows what ever you did bungie, please look back and delete what ever is causing this sudden and annoying fps drop. i will say i can eliveate the fps drop to a degree if i go into my gpu settings and under performance change the minimum clock from 500mhz to 2500mhz that does allow the fps to increase around 10fps on the tangled shore, dreaming city, but on the other destinations i mention that are ok for fps the gpu oc lets the frame rate jump upto 144fps with an average around 127fps which is nice

  • Clan mate who runs a R7-3700X and 2080 suddenly got the same problem yesterday, had no problem until then. Only change was his nV drivers updated. Rolled back the drivers, same problem. Something must have broken D2 that it can’t recover from. He’s currently wiping his PC and taking a day to redownload D2 (slow internet). There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to crappy performance or not. I played 6 hours last night (few runs of Harbinger and other stuff) and had zero issues all evening, logged in this morning to do Tower stuff and it’s a slideshow. Takes 2 seconds to draw the character boxes on the login screen...

Yeah, I'm starting to think Bungie is getting money from nvidia to screw over Radeon users in their game.

  • Tried to play a bit of Control today, loaded in to Javelin-4 and couldn't play at all - every time another player came near it was a slideshow. I'm talking less than 5fps. Yet next game in Widows Court ran perfectly fine. Tangled Shore is choppy, EDZ around the church is choppy. Cosmodrome is fine in general, Europa is OK apart from some chop at zone change, Moon is perfect, and in general Gambit maps are fine too.
