Don't think it's a hot take.
Pretty sure most people hate Armor sunsetting significantly more than Weapon sunsetting.
At least with weapons you can find an easy and cheap replacement the next season for gear that's being sunset. Like for example, I love Line in the Sand and it's being sunset next season, but I have a good Corsair's Wrath to replace it.
However, with Armor? It's not as easy. You need JUST the right stat roll + distribution, then you need to dump Enhancement Prisms + an Ascendant Shard on top of that to replace your sunset armor. The time + effort spent on armor is pretty significant, and only having the armor last just a few seasons is ridiculous.
People are just going to stop caring about either--
1) Masterworking their armor
2) Grinding for their ideal stat roll/distribution
Neither is a good outcome.

We maybe disagree about whether it's a hot take. But it sounds like we agree exactly about the problem! I think the changes I suggest would make that more reasonable. Do you think so?
