Powercreep is a lie. It doesn't exist, not in destiny anyway. I can agree on removing pinnacle weapons but the regular weapons don't come anywhere near this.

 • Power creep does exist, but it can be negated by just not making stronger weapons. Spare rations only was meta because it had the best archetype and best perk pool. I don’t see a reason for sunsetting either when most weapons were too op in pvp, which quickplay and comp still exists, Trials is dead anyway so no need to care about that

 • Power creep is as simple as our time to kill decreasing. For example in the beginning of d2 with double primaries, when that was changed our power increased. The instant reload meta, power had increased. If something new has to be better then what we already have to be considered an option then that is power creep. For there to not be power creep either everything old needs to be occasionally purged or there can only be side grades never upgrades (as in doing the same thing in a different way like the difference between rampage and kill clip)

 • Yep. This right here. I don’t think anyone is denying that MT, Recluse, and Revoker needed to go. But Blast Furnace, Spare Rations, Beloved? Sure they were good, but they weren’t gamebreaking by any stretch. They weren’t that much better to the point where you had to have them, it was just beneficial if you did.

 • The question wasn't if it was a must have but if you did have it what would it take to consider a different similar gun. If it has to be better then that's power creep. If every release has to add something better to get people playing the new content, what would our capabilities look like in a year? Say you compare an original better devils to a reissue with explosive payload, if there is no power creep they should be equal but the reissue will always be better cause it has an additional perk. That situation is one of the first examples of power creep in destiny 2. The first might actually be snipers, shotguns, and fusions being taken out of the power slot but I was taking a break at that time so I don't know if it happened simultaneously.
