Pvp balancing ideas

First things first to clear the air, yes I play hunter and titan most before people start saying I don’t want them nerfed. They need more than warlock does, I only have a couple of changes for warlock. Also these come from a console perspective and as such can’t say much for pc. Some of this might sound quite opinionated, I have tried to be fair. This will also be long I apologise. Also this is for Pvp don’t make these changes in Pve stasis is fine in PvE. Stasis! Biggest issue in Pvp hands down Glacier grenade: easy one to start with. With the fragment it does to much damage and has too much range, you should not be able to do team wipes if they are 14m away from each other. There should also be a counter punish to breaking the other teams crystals such as recoil damage. Duskfield grenade: Multiple issues here but easily solvable in Pvp. It is a slow field don’t make it pull people from 9m away. Either have a pull grenade or a slow field, NOT both. The freeze should also take longer to proc so you have a chance to get out of it if abilities are going to be disabled whilst in it Cold snap: Personally I’m ok with this after the changes, it’s annoying but that’s about it Revenant hunter: Shatter dive: just broken in Pvp , I’m not going to pretend it isn’t. It needs the dmg reduction removed, it should not let you survive supers. Maybe give it a cool down of about 5 seconds so if you don’t break the crystals you can’t just jump back up and cast it again Also please just fix the super so you can’t throw a Kama at someone and they can’t catch it or absorb it so nothing happens. The melee probably needs the projectiles to travel slower maybe only slightly faster than throwing knife speed. I think it’s okay as it is now to compete but I don’t want it to become the outright best if any of the other changes happen Behemoth titan: This is where I have most issues and yes I do play behemoth titan as well and feel brain dead using it. There are issues with basically every component of it. 1. The melee launches yourself to far for the cool down it has when combined with the aspect. You should not be able to do 180 turns mid melee. Make it so once it’s been used that’s the direction you are going in 2. The slide needs to be shortened or have a hell of a lot longer cool down, no one should be 20 metres away and can be shotgunned almost instantly due to it launching you so far or change to slide to having its cool down after 1 slide not 2 3. The super, the most broken thing in Pvp hands down. It lasts to long, has to much armour, can cross the map three times and still do team wipes, the freeze on cast should not be a thing, does to much damage, the only roaming super that can counter it is top tree dawn because it can fly. Very simply give it normal armour values, shorten the duration, consume more energy on the light attack, remove the freeze on cast Warlock shadebinder: I’m actually not sure what they need changed outside of the changes I’m about to address with freezing and slowing Freezing and slowing Slowing should not provide an accuracy penalty, simple as. Being frozen should give you like a 40-60% damage reduction so you have a chance to breakout. With the damage you take from breaking out and the animation where you’re vulnerable I’d say it’s more than fair All stasis supers They should go off of line of sight, freezing people and killing people through walls or around corners is not ok Warlock top tree dawn This is my only issue and I think this is a fair change. Half the cool down of Icarus dash but only make it one dash instead of 2. I would have said celestial fire pre stasis but with it now in the game and staying I’d say it’s just about bearable (just don’t bring back solar plexus) Exotics Disclaimer: I don’t play enough warlock to know if any are broken Mask of bakris I do love my mask of bakris but it is outrageously strong even with the increase in dodge cooldown. So basically it states it changes dodge for a blink, so it should change dodge for a blink. In other words remove the slow on dodge and the getting your melee back or reloading if using it Dune marchers Nothing should provide a 20 m melee that goes in all direction from where you hit. Either decrease the range or make it directional One eyed mask Give it a cooldown from after you lose the overshield like icefall mantle disables your class ability regen after cast Stompees They are just to good, they make you jump too high and slide too far. Tone it down Arbalest The bane of Pvp. What happened to snipers was good in reducing the aim assist it has made one of the most balanced weapon metas I have seen. But arbalest needs a BIG REDUCTION in aim assist. Enough said I think Jotuun I personally don’t have many issues with it but I know a lot of other people do. Basically give it self damage, drastically reduce the tracking, or give it a perk like it gains damage the further it travels or loses damage the further it travels so it can’t one shot at every conceivable range Bastion Give it a longer charge time or make it do like half damage on the first burst, the same as now on the second, and 1.5x on the 3rd so it can’t one shot with the first burst but overall damage is the same. Crimson Was balanced before the changes but now causes to much flinch and has too much range, I’m almost tempted to say it’s more powerful than red death was in its prime Shotguns They need some tuning in some way, they are so dominant now that basically everyone uses a shotgun. I don’t know if the range needs decreasing, the spread needs increasing or something I’m not sure. One thing I did see which was mentioned by a YouTuber who’s name has escaped me is remove QuickDraw off aggressive frame shotguns. Elemental abilities I just think this would be a nice change as its light so why can’t it have a counter to stasis, tie it in with the lore or something I don’t know Solar subclasses: Have reduced time being frozen Void subclasses: increased armour whilst slowed Arc subclasses: less speed penalty when slowed and after being frozen gain a speed buff for 5 seconds I have probably missed quite a lot but can’t think of them at the moment, feel free to disagree with me if you want but I think this is pretty fair across the board
