Did you work out a fix?
I have the exact same problem on my Series X but not when logging in with same Destiny account on Ps5. Takes (what feels like forever) to get through ‘Connecting’ > ‘Verifying Content’ to get to the character screen.

I did a full uninstall/reinstall of the game and and all the additional content and I'm down to about two-and-a-half minutes. That's still longer than login was taking pre-update, but it's an improvement. Otherwise, no other ideas, suggestions or other feedback to share, unfortunately.

I was tinkering around and just tried removing all additional content - leaving ONLY the Beyond Light expansion installed and now pretty much goes from splash screen to character screen in less than 30 seconds. Weirdly enough, all expansions content before beyond light is still accessible for me, including cosmetic/preorder contents since vanilla destiny, even with the additional content no longer installed on the Xbox. See if that works for you too?

Hey, Big delay on responding to this, but I gave it a try and no further improvements. In fact, after the add-ons continually prompted to install again, I'm back to a 4-5 minute login delay. Thanks for the suggestion - wish I could give better feedback on my results!
