You are playing the PVP that is part of a power-fantasy game.
Learning how to deal with abilities is part of the skill of playing this game well.
You aren't being punished for hitting your shots. You're being punished for wanting to ignore half the game.
..and this thread is why I feel that returning Trials to the game was one of the worst mistakes Bungie has made. EVERY time Trials is part of the game there is this ENDLESS cry to nerf everything in sight....and this massive power drain from the PVE side of the game.
If you want a gun game? Halo 5 will be happy to have you. This game will always be a mix of gun skill and build-strength, until the day (if ever) Bungie seperates the sandboxes.

Edited by Beagler: 12/30/2020 9:13:41 AMWhy does learning how to deal with abilities have anything to do with Stasis is bad for PvP? People can learn to counter Stasis but that doesn't mean it makes the crucible more fun. My opinion, shared by many, is that Stasis makes the crucible experience worse.
-
Fun is about expectations. Are your expectations reasonable for a game where you are a magic-tossing space-wizard/warrior-angel??
-
My expectation based on playing the game for the last 3 years is that the crucible experience is worse now than before there was Stasis. Sorry you don't have a valid point, you're commenting on a subject matter you know little about, and I discount your opinion accordingly.
-
Thank you for confirming my point.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night.
-
I really don’t care what you think, either way. So I’ll be sleeping just fine, thanks.
-
really, you can not counter or defend against this no skill scrub subclass
-
You counter it by outsmarting the person using it.
-
You must be really good to stop being frozen around a corner or from across the map what a star
-
Just good enough to generally avoid getting hit by grenades...

Edited by Beagler: 12/30/2020 9:15:01 AMYou don't get hit by it because you don't play PvP lol what a troll

Ive heard many people echo this, D2 is a fun power fantasy game, not meant to be competitive or taken too seriously
-
Vanilla D2 showed us----or should have showed us---that trying to turn it into something super-competitive just destroys the PVE side of the game. This game's PVE can survive without PVP. But this game's PVP will die like a dog without a vibrant PVE side of the game. Take away the space-magic, and Destiny 2 is a third-rate Halo-clone.

Edited by YourAverageGuardian: 12/29/2020 4:58:06 PMConsidering they removed half the game and gave us an OP class that makes all others irrelevant, I think Bungo is doing a great job destroying their own game.

I feel the build part is the most fun aspect of PvP even. Getaway Artist, Bottom Storm, everyone gets a damn Arc Soul. Add NTTE to it and I'm running a full Summoner Build, it's great!
-
Agreed. But instead of leaning INTO that MOBA-like aspect of play....Bungie keeps trying to get RID of it...and make the game play like a conventional shooter.... ...and it never will. Its why I've given up on PVP in this game. I've gotten tired of watching Bungie keep trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. ...and damaging both in the process.
