Each strike should have a boss related loot drop that can be farmed in a simple way
Don't we have this for nightfalls? I got a [armory]Trichromatica[/armory] ghost the other day from the Inverted Spire nightfall that was clearly a reference to the boss. I'm not sure if that's a one-off thing or if something similar exists for the other strikes, but would this be a matter of making it more accessible to farm (so you don't have to wait for the nightfall to get a chance at getting it) or are the current rewards not interesting to farm for (e.g. not enough weapons / armor)?
Firstly, control does not work as a new light playlist. It requires map and game knowledge as well as the ability to work as a team, this will never apply to players trying to play the game first time. This is why clash should replace it as the main 6v6 gamemode.
I might be off base here but wouldn't clash require more implicit map and game knowledge than control? And therefore even more teamwork? I feel like control at least provides players with some amount of direction and structure by funneling them to key parts of the map. Sure, they won't know things like "on Distant Shore you should prefer controlling control points C and B over control points A and B or A and C", but they can contribute by at least keeping opposing players off of control points and pick up the overarching knowledge of the map as they go. Conversely, and this might just be due to my own inexperience with Clash over the years, but I feel like I'd be much harder pressed to communicate a general strategy for Clash on these maps to a new player outside of "I dunno, roam around and kill things I guess." I guess I'd be interested to hear what sort of experiences with Control lead you to believe that Clash would perform better.

 • Im specificly referring to the core playlist when it comes to strike loot like how it was back in d1. Also none of the new strikes have specific loot. Crucible, for clash, it just requires kills and not focus on multiple objectives. In control, players need to play for points and get kills which after playing a lot of crucible, newer players don’t seem to do. Clash is simple and easy to understand. By having one objective which is to get kills, maybe people will learn to improve their play styles rather than focussing on zones.

 • Yeah, I understood you were talking about the core playlist, I guess I was simply fishing for whether the stuff the Nightfall is currently doing is exactly what you were looking for in the core playlist or if you wanted different rewards and/or better rewards than what the nightfalls currently offer. Interesting that the new strikes don't have stuff.
