Because the gear from The Dreaming City is from Year 2 of the game. The gear from The Moon is from Year 3.
So while one can argue that the loot pools should have been refreshed (once a century pandemic, working from home), the gear was[b] appropriately[/b] sunset.
No other loot game would still let you take gear from TWO expansions in the past, and then LEVEL IT UP to be relevant for current content. That is GAME-BREAKING, and Bungie finally was forced to admit that it was, and stop allowing us to do it.

Don't bring the pandemic into your excuses. A person that sits in an office all day at a computer can do the same thing at home. If anything they benefit cause now they don't have to commute to an office.

Edited by Sedge: 12/23/2020 5:28:47 PMWell, people don't programm using free tools of the internet, so to people to work home they need to have very good computers, licensed programms and open channels to a server or network externally to make deploys, updates e so on, opening a hole in security in the company network. So it's not so easy or better to work at home in some ocasion. But if you work only with revising texts, editing artworks, contability or anything that don't need a licensed programm or a super computer, yeah, working from home is a blast. Not everyone that works in IT can afford a top gaming pc nor a super computer to do heavy 3d processing or simulate gaming services, and stay with a open channel all day open with a external network isn't the most secure in the world for a company. Oh, and the own company said their engine is really hard to work, so imagine if they aren't open channel all the time, each time they want to test something or update something, to take hours, maybe days to a tiny update...must be terrible to work like this.

Furthermore, All gaming companies have been going through the same thing when it comes to the pandemic. So come again with what excuse Bungie has that they can't create a quality type of game? Bungie is not special that's for sure, but some people need to stop acting as if they are. They can still do their job in spite of what's going on like everyone else is that is dealing with this in the entire world.

You give too much credit to other companies. I don’t see a lot of great games, without bugs and that have development in a year that stand out. The game industry nowadays is a mess. Games that are somewhat successful are games that take years developing, utilizing new engines. I see you guys think the companies have a lot of spare computers and can give them to people at home anytime. I work for a company and in the pandemic I had to use my own devices if I wanted to work at home. If not I would have to work at the workplace. And believe me, if their engine is shit like they say, update this game is actually a nightmare, but they can’t focus on a overhaul without prejudice to their other IP or current main game. Because if they stop update destiny to work on a new engine or a Destiny 3, they would close doors before it launch.

I think you missed the point here. See, what I'm looking at that you aren't or KG for that matter? Bungie was producing the same result way before the pandemic even heard of, so with the pandemic or not things have been the same or worse with them working from home or the studio. Why don't you explain that? Hell, the base game says enough and that was 4 years ago. As far as what other companies have or don't have or what people have to work around isn't even the point I was making. The fact is, they're still doing their job unlike Bungie always looking to cut corners.

They changed the game direction, before was know as a Looter shooter, now after activision split they are trying to make into a MMO, and it isn’t really already, they are in a transition period, if it will work or not, only time will tell. But they have to decide to stick with their plan or listening to the complainers and changing things. If they do the later the game will getting wording everyone because it won’t be like they want nor what the complainers want. About be shit or not, is a matter of opinion, even if the majority don’t like, there people who like, so “shit” is subjective in this matter, but everyone can have their opinion and I will respect yours. I am just trying to point mine

Here is another thing you and KG love to leave out. Matter, do you think putting this game on the back burner giving that IP the resources this game should be getting has anything to do with the excuse some of you like to come up with? I mean, a mobile game company being on the board must be a real benefit to the player base. What I'm getting at is, stop the nonsense with all the excuses knowing Bungie made their bed, and people like me will always point it out especially when a company keeps making all these false promises and relying on the license agreement, abusing the "subject to change". Some of us will always look for an excuses . This game has struggled from the start,and never really found a good base, sometimes I thought he, this looking promissing .Then they f,it up right afterwards. And they are still doing it. It’s really sad that there isn’t anybody in management that can give it a turn towards a healthy and fun game to play. It’s a curse . I mostly just laugh at how serious a lot of people take gaming. Don’t they have friends or family in real life? It’s just filling you’re spare time isn’t it. If you don’t have fun playing Destiny , leave as fast as you can, Bungie doesn’t give rats ass if you play it or not. Stay well and have an happy end of the year.

This^^ Not to mention having to coordinate all of this for hundreds of people....with very little lead time. Shit, where I work installed a commercial record-keeping system about 8 years ago. They had TWO years to prepare for it...and the day it went live it promptly crashed. Was down for four hours. Then proceeded to crash at least once a week for the next year and a half.

Take some time off, play other games, no need to mindlessly repeat activities unless you have fun doing so. Remember, fun. It's what it's about right? Most of Bungie is working on Matter and Destiny 2 clearly has a skeleton crew. Just accept it and enjoy it for what it is. Yes you will get old guns with a new 'stamp' on them. Who cares. In essence this game is finished after Lightfall. Again, who cares. If you did not have fun investing the time to get your god roll, then you have been hoodwinked and need to think critically. Gaming is about fun, not about electronic baubles that vanish forever when a server shuts down.
