Im for sunsetting garbage supers, who even uses nova warp or bottom tree dawn breaker? Who uses nightstalker or mid tree arcstrider? Who uses sentinel or mid tree sunbreaker? These supers have no identity or pretty much any use in either pve or pvp because there are far better options. If bungie removes these useless supers and gives players the choices we have no with stasis on top of buffing the heck out of whatever supers they decide to keep, thats a far better option than what we have right now. Im all for customization, leaving light based subclasses how they are right now is terrible, just look at how fun it is to run stasis? You can make whatever build you want which is exactly what I want for light based subclasses too.

stasis is not fun, its bullshit. its very game breaking for pvp anyways. for pve i dont see a reason to run any stasis subclass other than warlock and hunter, the titan one is not worth talking about end of story. honestly im reaching my breaking point with this game. ive played over 8k hours from d1 to d2. the story is still bad, the gameplay has not changed and is starting to get very very very stale. the locations are predictable and empty. sitting here and really thinking about d2 in a nutshell and i just feel sad. this game can be so good but whats the point of having endless potential when its never used. if next season VoG doesnt come out then im gonna have to take a break. luke clearly hasnt began to understand what community wants.

Guy asked who uses nightstalker. Opinion discarded.
-
I actually like mid tree arcstrider. More because is arcstrider, but more. But i dont see that many people using it either.
-
Spectral Blades and Arcstrider is all I would ever use in PVP or Gambit. Stasis is too slow to be that effective and the melee abilities are junk. Getting multikills in PVP with SB or ARC is too easy and have chained 5 kills a lot of the time. Stasis is weak compared to them. Dawn blade and Arcstrider users scare me the most and usually when I hear it proc I run the other direction and evade.
-
The thing about arcstrider is that is the same for all trees. And the mid tree is the worst. Since the super is the same, but a situational reflect that most people know how to avoid, and the meele is just... bad.
-
...a lot of people use those. Like, quite a few people use those.
-
I havent seen a nova warp in months and I play a ton of pvp. I dont spend much time on pve anymore but I still dont bother with nova warp. Its just that bad
-
I use middle tree arcstrider constantly in PvP. It gives you so much utility being able to whirlwind guard.
-
Thats nice, now think about this, is there not a single perk or 2 you wish you could change or modify in that tree? Maybe remove the melee to something else from another subclass?
-
Why on earth would that require deleting an entire super ability
-
I fully agree with what you’re saying. What I would like to see, rather than removing multiple trees, is buff the issues with the trees themselves that make them inherently weaker than the other branches. It’d be nice to have the ability to choose the main subclass tree itself and then the combination of perks/abilities you’d like to run. Think about destiny 1, except choosing which super subclass you’d run (think blade barrage, six shot, three shot golden gun), then be able to choose the assortment of whatever perks you’d want to run.
-
Bro you barely play the game you cant say no one uses them, i see them all the time in pvp. Leave them in the game
-
I barely play the game? Bruh I probably have like 3 times more time in this game than majority of players in destiny.
-
You have 1200hrs with half of that being AFK
-
I will bet my 1700+ hours and 500000+ kills that you're a lying sack of $hit...
-
You have 1 character that's 1230, you dont play lol
-
who uses...bottom tree dawn breaker...sentinel or mid tree sunbreaker? These supers have no identity.
I use them. Make them better, sure. Get rid of them no.
-
Making them better could be in the form of an aspect, just look at how one simple stasis aspect is able to change how the class works? Now imagine being able to apply an aspect that will grant the ability to modify your super the way you want? So for example if I still wanted nova warp instead of nova bomb, I would choose an aspect that changes the super. Another aspect could turn nova bomb into shatter or lance nova bomb etc. technically they are not really getting sunset, they are being improved to fit a play style without the restrictions we have now in the game.
-
What if the choice was swords or well for warlock though....I like you am totally on board with the notion and think they will most likely take the best of all things and build an aspect and fragment system to give us the customization everyone has wanted in the game for years with this being the worst rollout from a PR standpoint they could have had. I do worry a little though. If solar warlock became well only.....well then self rez would sure have to be in the aspect system someplace...
-
A simple aspect could change how the super works and the slots available to them will complement whatever build you want to make. The supers aren’t really being sunset, they are basically being improved upon by giving players the ability to modify the super itself. The basic super for example could be well of radiance but lets say you use an aspect that changes well to dawn? You can then modify your slots to create your own personal build wether its debuffing enemies or dealing extra solar damage.
-
Absolutely BUT every single change they have made in about the last year has had a nerf effect on us every single one. Some are harder to see than others but even the removal of the top end targeting mods is the same way. With energy costs to slot them again it is a nerf. This will be also mark my words. It is their plan to add difficulty to the game without adding any difficulty to the game.

The aspects is basically a better way to change and modify how a super works, the supers arent really being sunset, they are modified to be better by also giving players the option to modify the neutral game.
-
They are talking about sunsetting supers not turning them into fragments or aspects, taking them out of the game and btw taking in the current aspects and fragments that we have now, none modify the super, they modify the neutral game sure, only a small part gets changed by the super and thats usually freezing and shattering people people which is exactly what the neutral game is but on a larger scale
