• St. Elmo's Fire. Science tries to explain it, but only indirectly, and assuming that it can't be anything of the fantastical variety. Then, said science comes up with a variety of explanations to prove their theory, e.g., an electric field ionizing air molecules, and thus giving them a faint glow and hum. As of now, there is no way to prove this wrong... But, if I said they were shocky-shocky will-o-the-wisps, I couldn't be proved wrong either. It has been known to dart down chimneys, hover around houses, then fly out under the crack of a door. They come in a variety of colors including (but not limited to) blue, violet, and in some rare cases, red or yellow. If it is indeed of the faerie variety, then St. Elmo's Fire are quite mischievous, and in some cases evil. Such as destroying the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin's LZ 129 Hindenburg of May 6,1937. This matches what we know of sprites and such hating humanity in folklores and myths. Scientist claim it to be a form of plasma, but they are pulling a veil over there eyes at the many other possibilities. St. Elmo's Fire could be faerie. *bows in cryptozoologist*
For the definite truth of the matter, I believe the proper course of action would be a raid on Area 51. Any takers?
• Hm, I’ve been into in Celtic and Norse mythology. There are some Greek myths that are pretty interesting, but I find most of them strange. (Though Celtic and Norse myths have their ow quirks, too!) Enbarr is a horse in Celtic mythology that can run across land and water without her hooves touching what is beneath her. There are also the horses Skinfaxi and Hrimfaxi. To the Vikings, one brings daylight while the other brings night. Beowulf is another neat legend... a little gory, maybe, but it was neat to learn about the culture at that time. Ive also read Homer’s Odyssey. Though it was hard to read, it was an interesting story.

      • I like Greek Mythology the most and of all the stories I’d say Perseus has a special place in my heart since when I was younger, I’d always love to watch the original Clash of the Titans movie

          • I love Ancient Egypt. The aesthetic, the deities, the architecture, the beliefs. It's just fascinating. My favourite specific part? Not sure. Either Anubis and their concept of the afterlife or Khepri. Something cool about a beetle rolling the sun across the horizon.

          • If I said my favorite one then I'd get banned for talking about religion. Instead I'll bring up King Midas; was always an interesting story. Medusa was another myth I liked.

Hmm, I haven’t read too much mythology but there are still so many great stories. I enjoyed reading Epic of Gilgamesh quite a bit, it’s interesting to see how one of the oldest written stories still shares elements in it that aufbohre use to this day. There are also some really good Greek tales. I especially like the stories of Theseus, and Talos the bronze giant. It’s cool to see that people were still thinking of robot like inventions back then. Beowulf is also another really good one. I enjoyed the dark age tale of glory and battle. And it had a dragon, who doesn’t like dragons? From what I’ve read of the legend of King Arthur, that seems really cool and I really want to read more of it someday. And lastly, this isn’t technically mythology because it was written on the e 1860s, or really legend either, but the Saga of King Olaf was a really good poem. I mean technically it adds onto the legend of king Olaf but im not sure if it should actually be considered on this list.
