My heart is melting! 🥺
My cousins raise a lot of chickens and other animals (it’s a veritable menagerie over there). Their chickens unfortunately suffer more casualties, it would seem, than the Germans at Verdun. Between all the predators we’ve got, redneck neighbors with pellet guns and a sick sense of humor, and other factors it seems they’re always holding little funerals for their feathered, furry, or fishy friends.
My uncle succinctly summarizes the situation by shrugging and saying, “It’s a tough camp.”
For our part we’ve avoided the casualties by sticking to easy critters like cats, dogs, and rabbits (which are simply adorable).

Aw, man, that’s rough... It’s horrible to know the things that people will do to animals for no reason other than for a couple laughs. It’s very irresponsible for what we’ve been given to take care of. I’m glad you are still able to enjoy having pets, though! I’ve never own a rabbit before, but I know people who do and they really are just lovely little roly polies!

Agreed. People are lousy. :( My sister generally takes care of the rabbits. They’re quite adorable, but rather taciturn. I’m lazy, so I’ve just got the tabby cat covered. He’s lazy too, so it works out well. I also have a potted Prickly Pear cactus that requires 0 maintenance. His name is Spike. lol
Sorry, all out of salt.
