Last night, AMD released Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.6.1 that fixes some Radeon Graphics products that were experiencing lower than expected performance in Destiny 2.
AMD users may want to change their Settings > Preferred Software Version to Recommended + Optional for future updates.
In our TWaB blog post, we acknowledged that we made some major engine changes with the launch of Beyond Light - while working from home. Due to the pandemic, we haven't had access to our PC compatibility lab to do in-depth testing.
We've been making improvements with each release even though they aren't called out in patch notes, and we're working with our partners to help address these issues and are optimistic about the future.

We have looked over the data post 3.0.2 launch:
-- High-end users saw big improvements: we're about halfway back to pre-Beyond Light perf.
-- Mid-range systems didn't see much improvement.
-- Low-end and laptops didn't see much improvement.
We're continuing to investigate and look for solutions toward better performance.

We released Update 3.0.2 that optimized Lighting on PC GPUs to help increase performance.
-- Many folks have mentioned turning off the Shader Cache in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Does this help with performance?
We believe we found a few issues related to light probes that have led to GPU performance degradation. We're still investigating and hope to have a resolution in January.

Please use this thread to help us track down what is causing the issue by:
1. Posting when and where you are having FPS issues in the game
2. Quitting out of all open apps and browsers while playing to see if there are any improvements
3. Posting your PC specs with your DxDiag by following the instructions in the spoiler tag

• Press (Windows Key + R) to bring up the Run dialog box, enter this command “dxdiag” without quotation marks.
• Click on “Save all information”.
• Copy the text and use a text dump website (i.e. PasteBin.com) to paste the information. Please don't use Google Drive, Dropbox, or another similar service.
• Create a link and post it here with your PC specs

Additionally, below are some suggestions that may help FPS issues:

The game was running fine yesterday after the windows and nvidia update. I played for probably 4 hours then decided to go through all my gear. Changed up my loadout to go into Iron Banner and when i zoned into the tower my frames were down to about 25. They were always above 60 in the tower and above 70 all other areas of the game...now they won't go above 35 anywhere. I had this same problem just before Beyond Light released and tried every fix or optimization i could find and the only thing that fixed it was a fresh install of windows. So, that lasted roughly 4 weeks and now i'm having the same exact issue. Frame rates no higher than 35/40 on any destination and 60-80 in orbit along with micro stutters in the menus and in game. I am not going to reinstall windows every 4 weeks to play this game and i shouldn't have to. No other game gives me any issues. So now I'm stuck with a game and season that i paid for that i can't even play becuase apparently the company is too concerned about their microtransactions and streamers to care about the other people who are having actual problems playing their game. I've always recommended this game to people to play, but after reading through this forum and seeing the large amount of unresolved issues i have no choice but to not recommend this game and I will not be purchasing a damn thing bungie makes moving forward unless they start putting game performance before balancing and sales. You can't sell or balance a game nobody can play!!!! I love this game and its lore, but not being able to play it at a performance level i know my pc is capable of and having spent countless hours trying to fix an issue that most likely has nothing to do with anything on my end has left a very sour taste in my mouth. My system specs are Ryzen 7 1800x asrock b450m steel legend mobo 32bg ddr4 All SSD's gtx 1080ti liquid cooled windows 10 pro I have cleared my nvidia cache and cvars with neither fixing the issue. I have also cleared all caches in windows with nothing fixing the issue. I guess my biggest question is what is reinstalling windows fixing that i can't fix without reinstalling windows? Anyone have any suggestions?
