Necrotic Grip doesn’t restore melee energy
The Necrotic Grip exotic isn’t restoring melee energy when a corrupted combatant dies, which is half of its perk.
There also seems to be an issue where the corruption doesn’t spread when a combatant is corrupted by using Thorne and they die from corruption. I have to kill them with Thorne for it to spread.

1 ReplySo many people telling OP that necrotic grips don’t need a buff when they’re not asking for one. They’re asking for the exotic to work the way it says on the exotic.

Necrotic Grip doesn’t give melee energy on corrupted combatant kills. This is intentional, and the Exotic will be updated to remove the text mentioning this. Eugh

Yeah I noticed this issue too. I assumed I was just getting a very small amount of melee back that I couldn't really notice.

It does work but not in the way you might think, based on tests that have been done it about a 20% restore and it has around a 2% chance to activate on a kill. It might be bugged but technically it is working, it is one of the best new exotics even if that part isn’t working

In content like raids you tend to run exotic heavies or other such important exotics. An exotic kinetic that isnt izanagi's has next to no place for raid encounters. This same principle tends to go for high rank nightfalls as well. What people are asking for is not a buff, but a fix. The exotic has a very clear description stating: "Damaging combatants with melee attacks corrupts them with increasing damage over time. Defeating a corrupted combatant spreads the corrupting effect to nearby targets [u]and restores melee energy.[/u]" It currently does not restore anything. And due to bungie having locked out multiple exotics this season already, one can assume that its synergy with thorn is entirely intentional, and that the gauntlets do not, in fact, function as they should.

It is restoring people are stealing your kill if thats the cas the more you kill the more it restores

Well, one of your problems is that there's a gun in D2 called, "Thorn." I'm going to assume that you're using, "Bella Thorne," which is mostly toxic and poisonous for anyone stupid enough to cast her. Bella Thorne can only be weaponized against others in film, television, and social media, which is primarily how her corruption spreads. Also, using Bella Thorne puts you at risk for migraines, bleeding eardrums, involuntary self-directed face-punching, Clamydia, Gonorrhea, HPV, FIV, Parvovirus, and an exceptionally rare strain of Simian Herpes. It should be obvious just by looking at her.
