While I have problems with Crucible, and I really don't enjoy Gambit unless I have friends, AND EVEN THEN, that's a whole other forum. But I just wanna make one thing crystal clear.
I would rather play Crucible, solo or with friends, or Gambit with friends, then even consider Strikes to pass the time. You wanna talk about an underappreciated, dry barren wasteland where nothing is new, and you get nothing new? Welcome to the Strike playlist. There's NO strike specific loot, and I'm not Nightfall specific drops are still a current thing, say if I'm wrong though.
Lemme take you back, strikes used to be wonderful to grind in D1! You had loot specific to each strike, some for each class. The helm of Alak Hul, as well as his fusion rifle that had SUCH good impact. Hunters got these sweet aems from Phogoth, as well as Tanik's FRIGGIN cloak, always awesome! warlocks also had a nice head from the Fallen Saber. Forgive my lack of know all, I am a Titan main. ((And I prefer the purple crayon.))
And for awhile, these were rare drops, only made better by the Skeleton Key system in Rise of Iron! but besides loot, strikes had charm to them, especially those in the DLC! But now, these days? I hate it, it's a rat race to see who can get to the boss first, with little to nothing stopping you from getting there, besides kill the hoard to progress. There used to be puzzles about, unique mechanics in fights, like when a Orge was controlled by Siva, having to avoid it, whole fighting a siva fallen who was the actual boss to damage!
Bungie, bring back the loot, bring back the love for strikes. No more rehashing story missions for this, no more adventures made into strikes. Give us strike specific goods, worthy of grinding, give us that innovative fun I fell in love with.
If anything, just give me a reason to not despise the same rat race.
