Factions are some underrated under-utilized seasoning for the game. Faction vendors, armor and weapons would add extra spice hella activities need (gambit in particular).

That's a solid point. In addition to gear, factions could hand out general play bounties or even specific activity bounties. That would really allow players to choose an activity path as well as specific loot to run down.
