It’s largely irrelevant. Because we are not that person anymore. That’s the whole point of the meme key wipe. What do we do with a clean slate and no biases or preconceived notions. The game tells us almost no Guardians have memories of their mortal life. The few who do have little recall. So if you aren’t that person, why does it matter who that person is? That’s like saying some random persons history matters to you in some emotional way. That’s not normal. Not sure why you think it’s depressing. Do we spend our time with them uncovering their past? Looking for clues? No. Our character shows [i]zero[/i] interest in that. We see zero hints that there might be something important about our mortal life. All signs point to it not mattering at all. That should be an indication of it being irrelevant. Which makes me wonder why you need it to enjoy playing. Sounds like living vicariously through others.

Its fun to have a sense of imagination and plan a backstory for your character you've played as for years. Its not good or bad to jave a back story or not have one but the people that do did that cause it was fun for them so dont hate cause you didnt do it its fine but dont criticize people cause they did
