The strikes were 10/10 in D1. They are very pale comparisons to what they once were here in D2. I actually enjoyed playing strikes in D1. Gah the music in Sepiks still gives me chills. And the farm for Hopscotch Pilgrim was real. Now, it’s like who can speed run the strike fast enough to get it over with.

The bond brothers was a badass strike. There isn’t another strike in terms of scale and awe that compares to it. Bungie just doesn’t care. In D2 the story content turns into strikes. D1 never did that

I ran 300 strikes and didn’t get the Hopscotch. Still was memorable

Ohh that’s brutal. I guess I got lucky. I had the original where you could re-roll it at the gunsmith. I had the god of all god rolls. At least for crucible. I feel like that grind is what made finally getting the weapon so much more exciting tho. Feels like that’s missing in D2.

Yeah the gunsmith feature was awesome. D2 feels like it’s missing a sense of adventure and a soul because there aren’t cool things to chase down like strike loot

Old Strike modifiers went a long way in making them good. Some weeks challenging, some weeks just plain fun.

Exactly! I loved how both primary and special weapons got modifiers back then.
