Took me 12 tries or so to get an exotic the first time with exotics being a “rare” reward. Got 1 enhancement core in that time as well. Other than that blues and glimmer from completing them.

I am talking about Master sectors where the exotic rewards rarity are listed as "Common." Not rare, so it should be common for you to receive those said rewards after completing it.

Ahhh, never mind! I thought those were called grandmaster not master. Never actually looked at the names but the light level, that’s where I went wrong 🙃
