I'm playing on PC with a wired connection.

Have you tried DMZ hosting your PC while playing and changing it back or looking into port forwarding?

I don't know what DMZ hosting is. I am going to try port forwarding today.

With DMZ hosting you basically put whatever you want outside the routers firewall. No need to forward ports. It is a bit riskier because there is less protection but that is why some people change it back after their gaming sessions.
