I can 100% confirm that the following fixed my issues on AMD at least.
Went back to driver 20.4.1 my fps on tangled shore and braytech went from 45 to 90-100.
Any driver after that up until today I have tested all of them they all have low fps. I do honestly think the issue lies with windows version 2004 I havent tested build 1909, the reason for comming to this conclusion is if you read the patch notes for driver 20.5.1( first driver to have issues in beyond light) it says added support for windows build 2004 and nothing else realy was in that driver. i will add my dxdiag but i urge Nvidia users who are having the same issue try and find A driver that did not have the windows build 2004 optimizations and check if your game runs better. Cheers hope this helps @bungie !

This fixed the low fps but my problem is when I alt+tab and go back to the game its only a black screen, then after a couple of seconds the game will close. Have u also encountered this?
-
Nice you got it fixed but I'm running an Nvidia GPU
-
Is yours also fixed with older drivers or nah?

-Rx 5700xt downgraded to 20.4.1 getting better frames in tangled shore 100fps looking at some area and 175 in others but alot better thanks mate cheers!

Edited by Paracausal: 12/1/2020 2:10:15 PMI tried reverting to both 20.4.2 and 20.4.1 and still getting under 60fps on my RX 580 after using DDU and AMD Clean up and still getting under 60fps on Tangled shore and some areas on Europa. This is super frustrating. Is there something I could've possibly done wrong? Edit: Went back in to PvP and getting lag spikes all over the place. Is this because its a fresh install?? It's borderline unplayable
-
I dont know if this will help you but with the old 20.4.1 drivers i have an issue when i fresh install them i must uninstall my amd chilset driver aswell. Then install radeon driver then reset cmos.(i know this sounds weird but it works)
-
Actually could you elaborate. I just uninstalled both my chipset driver and my graphics drivers. What do I do now?
-
Ok so now what you do is this. After uninstalling both shut down not restart. 1.install radeon driver 20.4.1 (this one always worked best) 2.after install dont restart shut down again 3.install chipset (latest one get it on amd website) 4.shutdown again. Then while your pc is off reset your cmos(if you have A reset cmos button at the back of your mobo this will be ez but if you dont remove motherboard battery for 10min or so then reinsert it) P.S. this will reset any oc so make sure you have your oc saved as A profile so you can re-aply it etc. Hope this workes bud

I think this driver version won't work for a 6800xt
-
Oh well. Went through everything and still averaging mid to high 50's in the usual suspects. Tangled shore etc. Thanks for trying but I guess even reverting doesn't cut it for me.
-
All good bud most amd culprits here are navi users so yea maybe only navi gets fixed. Lets hope bungie gets on it
-
Yes sir
-
Ah ok I'll give it a shot then

Hello; "but i urge Nvidia users who are having the same issue try and find A driver that did not have the windows build 2004 optimizations and check if your game runs better." Question is, what driver is that? Can anyone help? Thanks.
-
I have had A look and i believe this driver was before the build 2004 optimisations. It is realy old by now same as amd driver and nvidia does not have it on there website anymore so get this guru3d instead. Have A look and let me know. PS. This driver is before 3000 series launch so if you are on new ampere card i would not try it. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/geforce-446-14-whql-driver-download.html

Thanks for your help, but....it didn't work. before BL i was in orbit with 200/300 fps easy, now i get 100/120, and as soon as i land on Europa, down to 70/80. Windows version 1909. Once again, thank you, at least u tried.
-
Maybe its because you are on the old 1909 build. Realy weird issue at this point but i still believe that something is wrong with destiny and for some reason going back to an old driver helped me. And some others. Oh well i hope it gets fixed bud
-
Thank you bro It worked for me. Only checked the tangled shore but I'm getting a smooth 100-144FPS On the tangled shore. No stutters yet.
-
Im happy but we must all thank user Millky-pie he was the real mvp with this ! But then its confirmed for nvidia and amd install the driver before windows 2004 optimizations. What was the driver number you downloaded ?
-
20.4.1 :)
-
Oh ok cool sorry i thaught you were on nvidia but im happy bro spread the news
-
Will do bro thanks again.

Edited by Sailor Venus: 11/30/2020 10:49:07 PMI'm happy to helping community :) But, driver version 20.4.2 working too
-
Yes you are right but that version isnt obtainable anymore on the amd website. But you can still get it on guru3d or so. But still the 20.4.2 driver is still before the 2004 optimizations
