I'm running a 5700xt and noticed massive performance drops on some older planets (and Atrak's space section).
Graphics settings had no impact on framerate, all tested on the Tangled Shore. On current AMD drivers I sat well below 40 fps on first drop into Thieve's Landing. I finally reverted to AMD's 2019 adrenaline software as I saw some folks mention disabling shader cache helps. The 2019 version has that setting.
While I did see improvement, I don't know if the shader cache option is an issue. The Tangled Shore immediately jumped up to 50 fps and I further boosted that to my normal 70-80 by applying different graphics settings. Note, prior to this version of AMD software changing graphics settings did nothing for my framerate. I did see slightly worse frames on Europa, but only marginally and prior to tweaking my graphics settings alongside some minimal game stuttering.
The stuttering was minimal, every so often it seemed to skip a frame or two. The character select screen suffered greatly. Hovering a character froze the screen for a solid 10-15 seconds.
Hope this helps. I miss playing the game at 60+ frames.
