Cloudstrike

This sandbox iteration that has yet to settle in the face of Stasis has been my most preferred. With that said. 140s should not be locked at the same zoom as 90 rpm. It leaves them completely obsolete when choosing a sniper. Taking one with such an interesting perk as Cloudstrike and making it so clunky on arrival will add it to the pile of other Exotic snipers you never see outside of Raids. Homogenizing them in zoom levels without considering impact or handling is borderline r*tarded and little else than lazy. Reduce the zoom from 50 to 45 or even 40, like the Omniscient Eye. Keep aa adjustments to appease the blueberries. 50 zoom should be reserved to high impact snipers that people use to double body or one shot from rift. People complained about Revoker cause it has 35 zoom! It's retired and you're crafting every sniper to be slow, cumbersome, and clunky as a result in a game filled with mid to short range special weapons on very tight maps. Stop this now. I dont want to only see Felwinter's, Arbalest (25 zoom), and Bastions.

    Disagree. I think Bungie is finally catching on to something that should have happened years ago....and is part of how other games keep snipers in their lane as situational weapons. Part of the reason why this game has an impossible to solve special weapons problem, is beause there is no PENALTY to being caught using one outside of its optimal range. Guardians can move so fast relative to primary weapon time to kill that if they get caught out with a shotgun? Either ape right at your target and get into shotgun range before they can' kill you with their primary...... ....or simply run for cover. For years in this game, sniper rifles have had the same quick, snappy handling as primaries....despite having the power to OHK. Plus the short zoom scopes basically allowed them to be used as OHK battle rifles. So get caught out with a sniper? Either use the high aim assist to drag scope your opponent while you tank incoming primary fire...... ....or you body shot them with that sniper...and then clean them up with a hand cannon or a sidearm. Sorry, but this is a smart move on Bungie's part to make "aggressive sniping" less attractive, and to enforce a penalty for being over aggressive or being caught out of position with a sniper rifle in your hands.

    • I think everyone's main concern is Crucible here. PvE, nobody usually cares but PvP is a different story. Snipers should be slower than regular weapons, they are meant to be fired from a distance, and there is alot of calculation to get the shot. They are utilized as a form of support. I think its a great move. My simple logic behind it is that one shot weapons should not be the main force in any PvP matchup. People will take every single easy route possible and that wrecks alot of fun to be had, this is proved in every single shooter. What are the dominant forces in every shooter from COD to Destiny? Snipers and shotguns. This generally forces much of the playerbase to utilize only those two weapons, and play exactly the same way because nothing else competes. Where's the fun in that? Its why I stopped playing COD. Why would I want to play each different game the same way as the last? Why have a vast array of weapons when only two types are useful or used? So to counter that, the strongest weapons need drawbacks to keep the balance. Ideally, snipers and shotguns would be the lesser used but still useful, and that's incredibly hard to balance. I think Bungie is on the right track to get that better than most developers. The fun of PvP is variety, if there's no variety, its no fun.
