I believe the correct term is "Teppanyaki". Teppanyaki is where you cook on a large flat surface, and Hibachi uses a large shallow bowl holding coals and sometimes a grate. I know a lot of Japanese steakhouses call it "Hibachi", but i'm pretty sure that's just...you know...America getting foreign culture wrong for the about 1000th time 😂
