Im getting lower frames in many areas but Tangled shore is the worst. When my frame rates are low I notice my cpu is only using 2 out of 6 cores and them 2 cores are not even boosting high. That's what giving the lower frame rates. I turned on "force_enable_multi_threaded_render_submit" in CVARS and my frames were back to normal and my cpu cores was fully boosting 5 of 6 cores but I get horrible shadow flicker with that setting on. Here is 2 screen shots showing the cpu core usage. • Confirmed the flickering issue, but also that this ramped up performance significantly. Are you able to try the 20.4.2 driver from AMD and see if the performance issues persist there without multi-threaded rendering enabled? Bungie developers can request my DXDiag; some details in mine are considered confidential.

  • Tried again with the 20.12.1 drivers and still the same flickering issue. I wish this would get fixed already I just wanna play.

  • I tried this and got horrible flickering even in orbit. I'm playing 1440p on mostly high settings with a few turned down. I get about 90-100 FPS on the moon, 70-80 at the tower (feels like this went down when Dawning started), and 55 on Tangled Shore. Sapphire Nitro+ SE 5700XT Radeon software version 20.12.1 Ryzen 7 3700x Asus TUF x570 Plus G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8 GB 3600MHz (DOCP is enabled)

  • Wow, that boosts my frame rate so much but certain areas have the shadow flickering (tower is really bad but tangled shore is great). So weird.

    Hi, i got exactly the same problems like you. You are writing this from my mind. Multi_thread_render on (1) --> good FPS 120-144 (but shadows issues) Multi_thread_render off (0) --> bad FPS 45-70 (tangled shore) My Rig: Ryzen 3700xt GPU 5700xt 16GB RAM MSI B450M My Windows updates and all my drivers are up to date Additonal: Some very high FPS Drops on PVP Maps and areas where are more than 3 players - from posible 120-144fps down to 50-70fps. In Comp: 3vs3 mostly stable around 120+ fps, but in 'Control' 6vs6 it is dropping down to 50-70 FPS Maybe it could be a bug which prevents the cpu to work at full power? S1latz i feel free to copy your text because it describes the problem very very good. BUNGIE PLEASE FIX THIS! DXdiag
https://pastebin.com/PSLVVV0i
]

    I have the same rig setup and the same performance issues. Tangled shores 45fps Switching to multi threaded = 1 improves performance but gives lots of flickering artifacts I notice that all across the game GPU usage is low on 1080p, around ~30-80%, regardless of video settings. I also experience micro stuttering where the game freezes for half a second, and it happens quite often. I've tried all the other solutions provided but nothing helps. All other games run smooth with 95%+ GPU usage and no issues. https://pastebin.com/msaD031N

  • For AMD try installing the old Radeon Adrenalin 2020 20.4.2 driver and report the result.

    This is my exact problem - basically no CPU usage, which causes very low GPU usage, causing terrible FPS. I'll give this fix a try - hopefully I won't see any flickering. Crucible is nearly unplayable due to frame skips, stuttering, and low FPS. Edit: looking at your specs in the pastebin, you're running the same CPU and GPU I am.

  • Yeah I thought maybe it was just an AMD issue at first but then I seen Intel and Nvidia users with the same issues.
