[BNG] PC FPS Issues Megathread - UPDATE June 22

Hey, community. We're currently investigating FPS issues on PC.
UPDATES
June 22, 2021 Last night, AMD released Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.6.1 that fixes some Radeon Graphics products that were experiencing lower than expected performance in Destiny 2. AMD users may want to change their Settings > Preferred Software Version to Recommended + Optional for future updates.

June 3, 2021 In our TWaB blog post, we acknowledged that we made some major engine changes with the launch of Beyond Light - while working from home. Due to the pandemic, we haven't had access to our PC compatibility lab to do in-depth testing. We've been making improvements with each release even though they aren't called out in patch notes, and we're working with our partners to help address these issues and are optimistic about the future.

January 29, 2021 We have looked over the data post 3.0.2 launch: -- High-end users saw big improvements: we're about halfway back to pre-Beyond Light perf. -- Mid-range systems didn't see much improvement. -- Low-end and laptops didn't see much improvement. We're continuing to investigate and look for solutions toward better performance.

January 19, 2021 We released Update 3.0.2 that optimized Lighting on PC GPUs to help increase performance. -- Many folks have mentioned turning off the Shader Cache in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Does this help with performance?

December 14, 2020 We believe we found a few issues related to light probes that have led to GPU performance degradation. We're still investigating and hope to have a resolution in January.

Please use this thread to help us track down what is causing the issue by:
1. • Getting bad frame skipping/slight micro stutter issue. Most apparent while looking around and looking at certain textures over others. Can see it when moving mouse around in menu as well. Not a problem before BL. Ran a benchmark on different game and it runs perfectly smooth at high settings, no frame dips. https://pastebin.com/TPSDj2f1 SPECS: Intel I7 9700K 3.6ghz 8 Core Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 2060 MAG z390 Tomahawk Mobo 32gb Corsair RAM SSD for game storage 144hz Gsync Monitor Wired Connection

Everywhere in the system I get around 60-70 fps during Crucible and Public PVE activities. Of course I get higher frame rates in orbit. Now whenever i get in the game i can go to the tower or do a mission like the hunt perfectly fine but as soon as i finish and go to the Orbit and try to queue for the tower or any activity i keep getting Error code: Beet regardless of what I do. • THIS SHOULD BE A GOOD GENRAL FIX FOR FPS DROPS, BLACK SCREEN CLOSE OUTS, CERTAIN PLANETS NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCESS. IF IT WORKS FOR YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW GUARDIANS :) Step 1 - In steam application go to settings and clear out the cache. You will need to sing into steam again once the application restarts. Step 2 - Go to your steam folder where your game is which should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ and whatever games is there that you do not have downloaded anymore & delete those folders. Step 3 - go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2 & for the destiny application icon right click and go to compatibility tab. Check the Run Application as Administrator box. Hopefully this helps with the issues because i was having serious issues such as game pauses, FPS drop & not being able to complete the story on cosmodorm. I have not had any issues once i did this steps. Best of luck guardian :)

I keep on crashing to black screen. My pc isn't even 2 months old. AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 16GB Ram NVIDIE RTX 2060 super I never had any problems before. But the moment Beyond Light hit it became unplayable. I've tried a number of things, in fact everything I could find online: Fresh reinstall Fresh reinstall of drivers Deactivating shader cache Running as admin Prioritising the game Nothing helps. I can run it from my crap laptop without a problem, but not on this new game pc. And trying another game works without any problem. I've made this Dxdiag log. https://pastebin.com/UfrSxpAW Any insight would be helpful.

          • Hello Bungie, I used to have way over 100 FPS before Beyond Light. Now when I go to Tangled Shore for example my FPS can go below 50 which is a very significant drop.EDZ is exactly the same I had constantly over 120 fps with no FPS drops but now when there is a Cabal invasion I feel like PC is about to explode. In Crucible on every map and every game mode the FPS drop is even more noticable when I'm trying to aim at somebody's head I feel like my PC is skipping way too many frames.Currently I'm playing on 1080p resolution and everything on Low.I used to play with a few things on Medium.I have tried putting everything on High and Highest and there's literally no difference.I tried every fix that there is on this forum and nothing worked. • Any time i would try to load a destination it would take minutes to load then i would kick me out this happens when loading into Europa, strikes or crucible. I also spend several minutes loading between one part of the map to another and then when i do load (that is if i don't get sent to orbit) i get severe frame drops and LAG when walking around. https://pastebin.com/Lr9LG7D2 Intel® Core™ i5-7500 cpu GEFORCE® GTX 1660 SUPER™ Corsair Vengeance PRO 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4

              • No matter what I do, it still stutters (the normal stutters from loading a new area, for example lost sectors, but also random, it stutters horribly from a mere drop from 117fps to 115fps). Should not be happening on my rig RTX 2080ti / i9 9900K / 16gb ddr4 ram @ 3ghz
https://pastebin.com/cxBXS4bB
• I haven't tried everything on this list yet but so far I'm still getting stuttering even after going window mode and deleting the CVARS file. I dunno what else to do except to try playing on my PS4 but I'm tired of having to delete 3 or 4 games to make space on it so that's a last resort.
https://pastebin.com/WxUb3Bs2
• Hello, from my smooth heaven experience in Forsaken and Shadowkeep it went to stuttering hell since Beyond Light update. My PC with 5800x and 1070 ti is quite fine with minimum stuttering, but my Lenovo y740 laptop is a stuttering hell and it is really bad gameplay experience. Since I am traveling a lot I play a lot on my laptop instead of my PC at home. Destiny was always one of the smoothest games since you fixed the Public Event stuttering. Please Bungie fix this issue asap. I do not have problem with frames per second, but with frametime which is causing the stuttering. It stutters even in the orbit, where the mouse is not smooth at all. I tried all things possible. My Specs are Lenovo Legion y740 i7 8750h RTX 2070 with Max Q design 16 GB DDR4 RAM M.2 SSD (the game is on this) G-Sync display DXDIAG https://pastebin.com/Cw103Ra2 Thank you Bungie for addresing this issue.

                    • So i figured out a quick fix if you cannot finish the status missions. Join up with a friend who also has the DLC while they are party leader and it should let you finish the beyond light story to unlock all your powers. Cosmodome is being a little glitchy.
