[BNG] PC FPS Issues Megathread - UPDATE June 22

Hey, community. We're currently investigating FPS issues on PC.
UPDATES
June 22, 2021 Last night, AMD released Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.6.1 that fixes some Radeon Graphics products that were experiencing lower than expected performance in Destiny 2. Due to the pandemic, we haven't had access to our PC compatibility lab to do in-depth testing. We've been making improvements with each release even though they aren't called out in patch notes, and we're working with our partners to help address these issues and are optimistic about the future. We're continuing to investigate and look for solutions toward better performance. If the game installed on not Windows disk, I had a shader cache problem. The shader cache didn't work, and I had incredible stuttering in the game and bee-error. Video card is Radeon RX5600XT Look this video https://youtu.be/qx4uMf5OiJM After I moved the game to Windows disk the problems are gone.

Just realized today that I'm having this issue too. Not so much that I'm having fps issues, but rather that my gpu usage is way higher than it should be across the game (mainly outside of orbit). I'm getting 80% usage while on the lowest settings, which is obviously not right for a RTX 2070. Looks like the issue has been identified (that its related to lighting), but I'll still post my info anyways. I don't remember having this issue before beyond light either. EDIT: nvm, I figured out my issue (had nothing to do with the game)

Im getting lower frames in many areas but Tangled shore is the worst. When my frame rates are low I notice my cpu is only using 2 out of 6 cores and them 2 cores are not even boosting high. That's what giving the lower frame rates. I turned on "force_enable_multi_threaded_render_submit" in CVARS and my frames were back to normal and my cpu cores was fully boosting 5 of 6 cores but I get horrible shadow flicker with that setting on. Here is 2 screen shots showing the cpu core usage. • Hi Bungie. I started having issues with Destiny 2 freezes randomly after the update 12.29.2020. Now I am unable to play the game for more than 5-10 minutes before it crashes again. I`ve tried several things like the thing you subscribe in this topic. And alot of several other thing like clean install of display drivers, stress tested both cpu and gpu. Uninstalled and installed on a different disk to make sure that not the disk was faulty. And the weird thing is that I can run Cyberpunk and other games with no issues at all. • Experiencing FPS Issues mostly during the evening (In Netherlands), about reset is when it starts, and it happens mostly when I am in crowded lobbies, when I just arrive on a planet or when I just start an activity. Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X NVDIA RTX 2080ti 16GB RAM 2560x1440 144hz Gsync Display Before this, I have stable 75 to 100-ish fps everywhere(but fps is still better before beyond light). Especially on the tower: 30fps being the lowest and 57 to 60fps the highest. Then suddenly come the holiday vacation, its suddenly like this :( On other games, its fine. Only on Destiny 2. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game, verifying its integrity, reinstall gpu drivers etc, all to no avail.

Specs: Interl core i5-9600k AMD RX 5700 16GB of RAM 2x 500mb NVMe SSD drive 1080p 75hz Freesync display. Destiny 2 fps doesn't often go under my monitor's refresh rate of 75hz. Ever since Beyond Light came out I've been experiencing some fps drops to the low 50s, especially on the Tangled Shore.

            • dxdiag: https://pastebin.com/kq5qSNJZ Specs: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.01 GHz AMD RX 6900 XT 32GB of RAM 2Tb NVMe drive 3440x1440, GSync/FreeSync comptaible display. Issue appeared when switched from GTX 1080 to 6900 XT. Getting 48 fps stable in nearly all areas. CPU and GPU utilization hovers at about 50%. Tried with FreeSync On/Off, Vsync On/Off, frame cap On/Off, HDR On/Off. At one point playing with graphics setting borked everything and I had flickering textures: mostly shadows, wiping settings fixed the flickering.

              • Firstly, I would like to list my PC Specs: Ryzen 7 2700x 16GB of ADATA 3200mhz ram Powercolor VEGA 56 I can confirm that there was a major tank in fps at 1080p on the Tangled Shore as of Beyond Light's launch. This however was solved by actually ROLLING back my AMD Adrenaline Drivers to 20.4.2. (This yielded me about a 15fps increase from roughly 55 fps in the spawn point of the Tangled Shore, to close to 70 fps and roughly 5 fps increases everywhere else besides what I mention below) However, in pvp (6v6 specifically) I am BARELY able to achieve above 65-67 fps with everything besides texture quality to low. Even if I turn that to low I might have a game where the frame rate doesn't dip below 70fps. Additionally, when spawning into the tower or in the general area of where the spawn points are, my fps tanks from 80-90 fps to 55 again, no matter which direction I'm facing.

Thanks for letting us know! I was thinking of getting back into Destiny 2 and getting the expansions, so I installed it today to try the base version on PC. Seems like I get random frame drops, which is unfortunate. I've linked my specs here. I have a consistent 60 fps (my monitor's refresh rate) a lot of the time, but it noticeably dips pretty frequently.

              • 1. Experiencing frame drops mostly in: - The Tower - Tangled Shore - Cosmodrome - EDZ - Moon I never experienced frame drops before Beyond Light launched. Or at least, it was never noticeable. FPS ranged between 80-100 on a consistent basis. But now, performance and FPS dips happen quite a lot in the areas above and go UNDER 60 FPS. 2. PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Processor - 16GB Ram - Windows 10 Home (20H2), 64 Bit - RTX2060 Graphics Card - Game Ready Driver 457.51

Having a problem where my fps drops significantly when i enter either a combat zone or the tower. In orbit i have around 250 fps but whenever i enter the areas above my fps drops to around 50-60 fps. Also the game stutters quite often when something large or something that requires a lot of computing power for example when a fallen walker blows up. Specs: https://pastebin.com/LZ92A8AS

                  • I tried literally EVERYTHING possible to solve it, but no results. (I even removed some Windows updates from the past few weeks!) I'm used to having 60 fps 100% of the time, but now I have suddenly drops to 5/10 for some seconds then back to 60. Sometimes it freezes for a sec. It happens every few minutes and it's terrible, it affects the gameplay in a way that I can't describe. GTX 970 16GBDDR
https://pastebin.com/fxabHwGG
