Hello,
Are you currently signed into Bungie.net using the Steam option? That may be your issue. Log out and log back in using a different method and you may be able to unlink it.

Does unlinking delete all of my content?

Depends on the content, but for the most part, no. Character progress is bounded to platform account, not your Bungie account. You'll still have all your characters, progress, gear, etc. The ONLY thing bounded to Bungie account is certain rewards, such as reward emblems. If you've ever made a purchase on the Bungie store, or redeemed a code for an emblem, they ARE bounded to your Bungie account, and you'd lose access to them. If you want to hold on to them for as long as possible, you can pull them from your collections and keep them in your inventory. After you unlink, you'll be unable to pull them from collections.

I'm already running into a hitch. You can no longer directly sign into a Bungie profile. This is pretty bad considering if you have an account you want to unlink, you can't be signed into it. If you want to unlink ALL accounts, I must be missing something then. I have to use another account I'm not using at all to unpair another account I DO want to use and keep the other one paired. If you want to sign in without linking, it's not possible.
