While the post is definitely appreciated; you might want to word it differently. It's a little misleading... Edit: added "to" 😐
English

  • Not misleading in the slightest. The wording is concurrent to show Deej is leaving. You guys need to step outside and stop associating statements exclusively with death...

I don’t think you know what “concurrent” means either. Man, you and your fake Masters are the gift that keeps on giving.

  • When you say we have "lost someone" and then proceed to say we should "pay our respects"; it most certainly can be correlated to ones passing. Again, the post is definitely appreciated. Oh, and I get out plenty, no need to be smarmy. Anyway, thank you and take care.

  • I’m not sure if english isn’t your first language, but usually vague statements such as that make people think of the worst. A change to the wording would make it less confusing for others. Maybe including “leaving the company” or something similar.

  •
I’m not sure if english isn’t your first language
A question you probably never learned about in college. Unfortunate. If your skills in all 4 areas (listening, speaking, reading, writing) are equal in all languages, then you are “native” in all of them. But if your skill is superior in those 4 areas in English, then technically, you are “native” in English. You can be native in all languages as a linguist if you work(ed) at it basically. I'm pretty sure I know more about the English language than most of the forums given the Masters I hold, but that is beside the point.
I’m not sure if english isn’t your first language, but usually vague statements such as that make people think of the worst.
The United States' comprehensive reading level is 4th grade as a middle-aged adult in their 20's or early 30's. Their same age group with respect to speaking is only 6th grade. There is a lot of work to be done if people want to be considered above primal compared to those who simply like being right. Again, less focus on death and more on the spectrum of life will reverse the subjective moral reasoning I'm seeing in this thread.
If your skills in all 4 areas (listening, speaking, reading, writing) are equal in all languages, then you are “native” in all of them.
That’s not at all what the phrase “native language” means, but okay.
But if your skill is superior in those 4 areas in English, then technically, you are “native” in English.
By that definition, English clearly isn’t your native language.
You can be native in all languages as a linguist if you work(ed) at it basically.
I think you have a serious misunderstanding about the meaning of the word “native”.
I'm pretty sure I know more about the English language than most of the forums given the Masters I hold, but that is beside the point.
Fat load of good that Masters is doing you.
The United States' comprehensive reading level is 4th grade as a middle-aged adult in their 20's or early 30's.
And Mr. Masters can’t see the flaws in how he worded his post, flaws that are immediately apparent to literally everyone else in this thread.
There is a lot of work to be done if people want to be considered above primal compared to those who simply like being right.
who simply like being right.

I think this quote speaks for itself, really.
Again, less focus on death and more on the spectrum of life will reverse the subjective moral reasoning I'm seeing in this thread.
You can only hide behind claims of subjectivity for so long.

  • Guilt is held, blame is shared. If you know this is a problem with your audience you should’ve worded it differently.

  •
Guilt is held, blame is shared.
There is no guilt on my end. The blame? I'm not blaming anyone. Giving advice to focus less on death and have a more open mind is merely a humanitarian reach out to stop focusing on the idea of death.
