The lore of any game, movie, tv show or book, is the history of the created universe. what rules govern what faction, what can and can't realistically happen within the fiction. Without it it makes it next to impossible to form cohesive stories, plots and sub-plots. When literally anything could happen it makes it harder for us to suspend our disbelief and become invested in the product as a whole. Its the sole reason star wars didn't just survive for 20odd years but thrived and expanded it's audience, making fans of the fictional universe from children who are at this point, 40 years removed from it's release. Possibly divisive below, not my intention. [spoiler]changing what is and is not possible within a well established lore is the driving force of people not supporting star wars today. They changed the laws that govern that universe to tell a story, instead of telling a story within that universe, there by destroying everything that ever happened before.[/spoiler]

Well, when lore, the thing that's supposed to supplement a story, becomes the main delivery for the story, ya got a massive problem on your hands! Lore is important to building a solid world with internal consistency, but this Bungo and this is Destiny. You can surely figure out the rest from there. Heheheheh.

I agree 10,000%, it has been my biggest complaint about destiny, since there was no time to explain(says the time traveller). Excuse me? Please tell me why this is happening so i know what im doing and why, who are these people, why do i hate them, why am i good and they bad. Without a game putting their story in the game, the people willing to search through text wall after text wall on 3rd part sites/comics become vital funnels of information that keeps me interested in the "story".

I don't know why people would want books, films, comics etc. I want it all in the game.
