I was shown a really well written piece in the lore discord written by Community member “Onsyzygy” from Ishtar Collective https://errata.ishtar-collective.net/the-dream-of-the-deep-stone-crypt/ which offers a well thought out perspective into the whole thing. Personally, I’ve theorised that it’s an embedded message by the Darkness to promote its philosophy, but I’m aware of the holes in the theory.
