When D.A.R.C.I. first came out it was a special weapon. It did so much damage I believe that's why they made it heavy.

There were no special weapons when Darci out, only power weapons. When year 2 arrived, all snipers, fusions, shotguns, and breech loaded GLs became special weapons. Only Whisper, Acrius, Tractor Cannon, and Darci were left as heavy weapons.
