Everyone whining about mountaintop when shotguns are more used and more OP.

There’s this thing called backing up. More used but definitely not more OP.

Backing up doesnt help when they run/slide faster than you can walk on these tiny maps. Shotguns kill in 0.0 second...every other gun kills in 0.8-1.0 second.

If you die to a shotgun, it’s your fault. If you know someone is baiting you, don’t chase them. Don’t hug corners. Use a sidearm, fusion rifle with backup plan (They shutdown rushed terribly well). Use your classes jump that provides the most initial horizontal moment so you can break away to create distance or break line of sight. Spray down while doing so. Obviously you’ll still die to shotguns but they are quite vulnerable to getting out maneuvered.

Except you only need to hipfire with them to secure a kill in most cases at 9 -12 meters. I always stay at long range when i can on maps. But most maps are within shotgun range at EVERY part of the map.

I agree, there are maps that heavily favor close range. But it can be mitigated. Top tree dawnblade is probably the best option.

That’s why I usually run a sidearm or fusion. Sometimes there is nothing you can do, but if you make them switch weapons, it gives a huge advantage. Staying near your team can help as well. If someone is chasing you, just turn around if they are too close to do anything. Obviously not fullproof.

Choosing a specific subclass or set of weapons isnt a solution for one particular potent subclass. Thats why we dont have diversity now. Something gets overused or abused simply because it received a well liked buff and now everything else seems rather lackluster. When they make something very strong in a sense, they need to find a way to counter it by making everything else equally strong or viable to say the least. So much time is spent seeing something become potent and watching it get nerfed a season or 2 after because Bungie’s logic is misguided.

Edited by SolarCerberuS: 10/22/2020 9:23:46 PMMore used definitely but not really OP as all special types have the ability to one shot within their range Snipers can dome medium to long range Fusions can one shot short to medium range Shotties can one shot short range Special grenade can one shot over most ranges from experience but are much harder to at short range imo I feel the likes of MT and Jotunn are just complained about more as they break the barrier of their traditional special type with MT more an explosive sniper and Jotunn more a seeking nade launcher with a charge time. Both are avoidable (moreso Jotunn) and Jotunn is an exotic probably why we are only seeing the incoming nerf to MT. With the new wall abilities in BL I suspect the ability to counter will be greatly improved against both snipers and the likes of nade launchers and seeking exotics like Truth and Jotunn.

Snipers are used more then shotguns and literally have zero to no counter. But good try trashcan.

Its not as much of an issue on Console. Edit-- Mountain Top projectiles travel extremely fast. If you arent already moving, your pretty much F**ked.

It is less OP. It is a traveling projectile that can be evaded...shotty's are hitscan and used by over 50% of the players. There is a reason streamers and the top players use shotgun and not mountaintop.
