He's Always been loyal. He is loyal to his House. You wouldn't call a Devil Splicer loyal for switching sides to our cause. They're a traitor. Sure they'd be helping us but they'd betray their own to do so. Variks is, and always will be, loyal ONLY to the Eliksni House of Judgement. He may help others at times. He may choose a side to stick with for a long time. But his one and only TRUE loyalty lies with House Judgement. We cannot fault him for that. He is not a rat. He's not even a traitor. He has never betrayed what he stands for. Nor has he ever betrayed his goals or ideals. Nor has he even truly betrayed his people. He's gone against them at times. But everything he does is in the name of restoring them to their former glory. That doesn't make him a rat. That makes his title very, very much earned. He is entirely, and completely, loyal.
