your post made me think of something; the Rifleman shot Sundance, and made Cayde "mortal". When we die in open world, ads will be shooting at our ghost constantly, to no avail. Something to ponder

The round fired by the rifleman was a thorn round.
The round fired by the rifleman was a thorn round.
Based off of one, they had to replicate one, which indeed they (the barons as a whole, for the sole intent on killing Cayde) only had a single round

oh bam

That's true. But I forget the lore piece that implies the drifter gave them the round or another Dredgen. Again I forget the lore piece.
-
wait what ima kill that mother......
-
It's implied either the drifter or a Dredgen gave it. Either way. I forgot the exact lore piece

In the lore cards it's explained the bullet the scorn used was specifically made for Sundance (Cayde's ghost). Similar to how the vex attuned weaponry against Saint-14. It was a one off thing.

The shot would’ve killed Cayde if he hit him because Devourer bullets drain the Light out of the victim. But Pirrha chose Sundance as his target likely because it means the barons can finish off Cayde.

Thanks for adding the specifics, I was at work at the time so didn't make time to find them. :)

If you look closer; the ghost projects a shield around itself to protect it until it can revive the guardian.
-
But in lore those shields don’t exist. *shrugs* game mechanics

Nah, the enemy just has really, really bad aim. Needs more training. XD
