I have been playing D2 on PC since it launched, but recently (within the last 2 weeks) I get a nightingale error when logging in. "Cannot download config files from Bungie servers" happens everytime at the point where it is "checking for updates".
However, if I switch to my cellular connection, I can log in fine and play, so its obviously not a hardware issue, as the game runs fine on that connection. My ISP has my connection wide open, so its nothing to do with any restrictions on their end. My router is the same one I've been using for a couple of years, and I've made no changes to the configurations or settings recently.
I can't play for long on my cellular connection, partly because the connection is not strong enough to maintain a quality experience, but mainly due to data limits and cost. The fact this just started a few weeks ago is baffling to me, as I have changed nothing on my PC, my router, or anything else that I'm aware of.
How is it possible that there is no problem downloading the config files on my cellular connection, but on my main ISP it cannot? Especially as I have been using the same ISP since D2 launched with no issues?
Also, I have uninstalled and reinstalled D2, and that did not fix the issue
Any thoughts or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hey there! You may need to switch to different DNS settings on your router. Here is a guide to do so. You can also do an IP refresh by putting these commands into your PC:
1. Press Windows Key + S 2. Type “cmd” without quotations and press enter. 3. 3.Type “ipconfig /release” without quotations and press Enter. 4. Type “ipconfig /renew” without quotations and press Enter. 5. Type “ipconfig /dnsflush” without quotations and press Enter. 6. Type “exit” without quotation marks and press Enter.
If the steps above do not solve the issue, you will need to contact your ISP. You may need a public IP refresh or reset.
